We were led up the path by the Red Knight. I looked around in curiosity. Everything was so different from Ever After, and it was difficult not to look around.

"You don't understand. I can't go to school. Take us to the palace immediately!" Lizzie ordered.

"Sorry, your Majesty, but those are the rules. Once you've stepped onto campus, no one is free to go until you pass your classes. No one," the Red Knight explained. "Look, I'm afraid we've gotten off to a bad start." The knight took off his helmet. "Chase is the name. Chase Redford."

The girls seemed flustered by his appearance. Jonas rolled his eyes at his sister's awe of the knight. I looked at him and smiled. "And I understand your distress. Besides, it's just one day of school; how hard could it be?"

"Lizzie, you said your Mom's party is at tea time. What time is that?" Raven asked.

"Oh, that's easy. Tea time is at the time we have our tea," Maddie explained. "It's right there in the name."

"No, I meant-"

"Four o'clock," Lizzie answered.

"Not a problem. School lets out at three. See? Now, you really don't want to be late," Chase advised. "The vice principal doesn't like it when students are late."

"Uh, what about the principal?" Briar asked.

"The vice principal is the principal. After all, it's not really fair to promote a vice principal out of their vice principal job just to make them principal," Chase explained.

"Principally a matter of principle," I finished.

"Correct." Chase smiled at me.

"Excuse me, clear the way. I'm very late, I can't delay!" a white rabbit said. Is that the White Rabbit? "Oh, my ears and whiskers, It's Madeline Hatter, and Kitty Cheshire too! And, oh! Your Royal Highness."

"Guys, this is the White Rabbit. Bunny's dad," Madeline explained. "Bunny's okay, at Ever After, by the way."

"Oh, thank goodness. She's safe from the curse," the White Rabbit said, relieved.

"Oh! About that curse-"

Apple was cut off by ringing from the clock in the Rabbit's hand. I jumped, startled at the loud noise.

"Oh, dear, oh, dear, no time to talk. That's the bell that rings when the bell's about to ring! Quickly now!" the White Rabbit advised, hopping through a small door in the door.

Jonas grabbed the handle of the door, and the door lit up. It separated by puzzle pieces. The girls gasped as I continued to look around. "Well, what are you waiting for? I said quickly! You mustn't be late for class!"

"This way, this way!" White Rabbit said, making the floor move underneath us.

~~~
"Is high school in Wonderland always this weird?" Raven asked.
"Seems pretty normal to me," Kitty said.
"Right, normal," Briar said as the floor we were on moved us up as we stood there, perfectly still."
"It's like every gravity law is thrown out the window," I said in amazement.
"Mr. White Rabbit, sir, please. You have to let my mother know I'm here," Lizzie begged. "I really must speak with her!"
"Oh, my fluffy tail, no! No, no no no no, the vice principal would be most displeased," the White Rabbit insisted.
"Please, you don't understand. We're on a mission. Lizzie's mom is in danger, and my mother is the Evil Queen. You know, the one who placed the curse on Wonderland?" Raven questioned.
