DESTINY

CHAPTER 12

           KIM
When I come to, I feel so groggy and tired like I was hit by a freight train and slept for four months. I don't feel any pain but my body feels heavy, I need a shower to wake up my sences. I open my eyes and stare at the ceiling, it took me a second or two to realize I was not at home, our ceiling has intricate patterns,this ceiling is plain white then I realize the strong smell of disinfectant,am I in a hospital?

I look to the side to find Eric perched on the edge of a couch with gaze fixed on a spot on the floor deep in thought.  I need water,my throat feels like I had swallowed sand paper only that it didn't go down but remain there, I hope my voice is strong enough to get his attention."Eric" it came out stronger than I thought and he snapped his head immediately in my direction, he gave a broad smile as me stand and come to my side, he looks relieved that I was okay.

"You gave me a fright back there Sugar,how are you feeling right now? Is anywhere paining you? Do you need anything?" He was blabbering, shooting question after question. I assessed my body and didn't feel pain anywhere only this sandpaper throat.

" I swing my legs off the bed and he was in my side immediately like I was gonna fall , I eyed him as I got up and walk to the dispenser, I grab a big tumbler and fill it with cold water. I almost moan as it went down my throat,  somethings are really taken for granted. I finish my water before throwing the tumbler in a bin and turn to find King looking at me inquisitively, I raised a brow at him. "What?" 

" So you really feel fine? Do you remember what happened earlier?"

"Yeah I was almost a meal to three black eyed wolves plus another huge monstrous black beautiful wolf that wanted the meal all to himself,seems like he didn't like sharing" when I finish he gave a smirk

" So the monstrous black wolf was beautiful?"

" Yes" I said I one breath, I'm sure I had  dreamy eyes, I wish I could meet the wolf again  he saved my life.

" I'm also sure the wolf doesn't like sharing." King said almost happy, I gave him a look and he just shrug, then I remember

"So you and that red-headed bitch are a thing now?"  I spat as I fold my hands across my chest and put more weight on one foot to make  my hip jut out.

" Kimberly, you almost died earlier from rogue attack then you hit your head and don't get me started in how you don't have even a bruise on the place that was hit and  Linda is what concerns you the most?" He asked in disbelief

" Oh! So she's not Lindsey?" He just gave me a blank look and I glared back. After like a minute. " Lindy?" I raised a perfect eyebrow

" No I am not dating her she's the perfect description of a nuisance, I was dragging her to my office to set new rules on how we are going to live in this house, she did something that I didn't like. I hope Isabelle filled you in on how we live here together."

" So your are their leader?"

" Yeah, you can call it that" I exhale and walk go sit on the couch.

" I'm sorry for running off and cause trouble, I thought.... Well I thought" I try to wrack my brain for a good excuse as I try to ran my fingers through my hair that was a tangle mess. I don't want to sound possessive, that will be embarrassing. Bingo!

"How do you know about what happened in the forest, you call them rogues,the red eyed wolves, I lost you before they got to me"

Then I saw my bag sling against a chair and remember.. Mother. Crap! I'm done for," what's the time? Fuck! Mom will have my skin tonight"

" It's some minutes to 10pm, you need to calm down Kimberly"  I rush to my bag only to find my phone dead, then I notice how dirty the bag is ,like it took a good roll in mud, I guess the wolf earlier kept dropping it as if followed.

" I would like to know what happened to the good wolf but I really need to get home immediately, where's Isabelle?"

" I asked everyone to stay out earlier" King said, I would like to ask why but I need to go home

" Will you take me home please?"  I say in a quiet voice.

"I  thought you will spend the night because you have been through so much this evening, maybe you can call her and tell her  you are  spending the night at a friend's" King said as he scratches his nape

" Eric you don't understand, my mom must be really freaking out if she hasn't called the police already,I'm always immediately at home from school,I don't have friends so I've never stay out this late, you have to take me home right now, please"  my voice came out so desperate but I didn't care.

"Okay Sugar" he takes big strides and take me in a tight bear hug that made me sigh into it,he is so warm almost feels like home. He is so tall that I lay my head on his chest comfortably, No guy has ever hugged me, well except my dad. " I know you have alot of questions, let's get you home first and put your mom at ease then we can meet tomorrow and talk. Mmh?" When I didn't answer after a moment he held me by my shoulders and push back softly and look me in the eyes, I didn't trust my voice so I just nod. He peck my cheeks and i instantly turn bright red, I avert my face to the floor but he put a finger under my chin and raise my face so that I was looking him in the eye again.

He gave that signature bright smile that made me feel at peace, it should  be sinful for a man to have such a beautiful smile. He sling my bag over his shoulder and use one hand to hold the strap and took my hand on his huge one engulfing mine entirely, this guy is a giant." All is well Sugar,let's go" I remain rooted in the spot so he tug slightly and I follow him like a lost sheep.When I was settled in the shotgun, I was off like light, I guess the days events really caught to me.

            KING
When she told me she doesn't stay out late and have no friends Jake howled in my head and I almost did a happy dance, this means she doesn't have a boyfriend, this is wonderful, I can't wait to bond more with her.

She immediately lulled to sleep even before I shift the gear to drive, she really must be exhausted. Good thing I know where she lives, when I found out she is my mate I asked someone to get her address, guess it came in handy.

I know she's afraid of how her mother is going to react, even I don't know what exactly I'm going to tell her but it definitely won't be how she saw me with Linda hence her running off and meeting with three rogues, I feel a shiver run down my spine,if I wasn't there to help her she wouldn't be here, unless of course if she has more power than I thought. She was so fearless back there, defending herself against a werewolf, she's really exceptional. I know she is a special one and hasn't realized her abilities yet so she's not using it to her full potential, tomorrow I will tell her about us and that she is our Luna and maybe she'll open up to me too, I wonder how she will react.

I pull into her drive way and my palms got a little sweaty, maybe  one of her parents is a vampire? Or a witch? Damn I should stop overthinking. Even  before I could kill the engine the door flew open and a beautiful brunette rush towards the car, she saw Kimberly through the windshield and immediately rush to the passenger side door, I quickly unlock the door just before she yanked it open. She sighed and relief was evident on her features when she saw her daughter was alright.

Then her warm eyes shift to me,they immediately bulge out as she takes two steps back as if I have smacked her hard across the face.

I felt that was a good place to end this chapter, tho it's shorter than the previous one
