Y/n's POV:

Finally, I was free of crutches! Well, they had been replaced by a walking stick whilst I was getting used to walking around in my boot. But it felt like the reigns had been cut loose and I was able to control more of my life again. The stitches on my stomach had healed nicely and I was able to do much more with Ava now without the worry of making the injury worse.

The only problem I did find was the over confidence I would get. It still took a lot of effort to do everyday things and I would be taken my surprise when I'd struggle to be able to do something. For example, the pain isn't constant anymore. So, I started picking Ava up more and once got a bit too excited when I joined Sophie to pick her up from school and swung her around. Safe to say that there is still some healing to do.

But I'm getting there and I'm feeling good about it. I've still got at least another two months off work, if not more so I'm making the most of the time that I have. Since my birthday, two weeks ago, I've been doing more each day and it's not long until Sophie is planning on moving home. Thankfully it's my left leg that is busted so it won't be long until I'm able to drive again as I've got an automatic. Once I can do that, it'll be back to normal at home again.

Sophie had been incredible, and I had been thinking of something to get her to thank her for all of her support. I would have been up shit's creek without a paddle if I didn't have her in my life and I'll always be indebted to her. It had taken me a while to work out what to get her but I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with. Firstly, I've got her a weekend break at a luxury spa. I paid for two as I thought she could take Hannah with her. Part of that present is me watching the café for her whilst she's away.

The second present is a bit more sentimental. It was a necklace with three small pendants on it. Each one represented Sophie, Ava and I and was our favourite colour. Sophie's was an emerald green. Ava's was a ruby red and mine was teal. I wanted something that would represent us as the makeshift family that we are. I had wrapped up the presents and Ava and I were excited to for her to open them when she got home later.

As she does every evening, she burst through the front door greeting us both with a big grin and a kiss on our heads. She had a dress bag in her hand, and I looked at her confused. "What's that all about?" I asked, pointing to the bag in her hand. "This is my new dress that I just treated myself too. We are going out!" She exclaimed hanging the bag on the door frame leading to my bedroom. "Where are we going?" I asked even more confused.

Sophie laughed. "We're going out for some drinks at a bar to enjoy ourselves. We'll dress up nicely and celebrate the fact that you're not tied to those crutches anymore." She explained. "I think you're forgetting about something." I responded and it was her turn to look confused now. "I've got a daughter who is definitely not old enough to be left home alone." I heard a giggle next to me as Ava crawled into my lap. "I'm going to stay with Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Missy." Ava explained. "Oh, so you're in on this two hey?!" I said, giving her a little tickle.

"Come on! It'll be fun. I may have bought you a new outfit too...." She said letting out a little squeal. I rolled my eyes. "Have you managed to find something that goes with the boot?" I teased. "Actually, I have." She said making her way to the bag she had hung on the door. She unzipped it and pulled out a burgundy tailored suit. It looks amazing but it had a white lace crop top with it.
