The Investigation Chap.17

Shortly after arriving back at the estate, you were received by a worried Ayaka and Thoma who heard what happened, you went inside into the dining hall where Thoma made some tea for you

you kneeled onto a Tatami mat, letting out a sigh as Thoma handed you the cup, you had a little sip as you felt yourself start to calm more, Ayaka came sitting across from you 

"One of Brother's subordinates told us what happened, are you alright?"

you nodded "Yes, but I was shaken at the scene a little"

Ayaka let out a sigh, "I see, it's good you're okay, where did brother go"

"He went to Investigate this matter" you said

Thoma started to think "He'll get down to the bottom of this, without a doubt as this was an attempt on your lives, did you find out who sent them?"

you thought back, "I believe one of the ninja said, they'd been sent by the Takatsukasa Clan"

Ayaka sat there stunned "Takatsukasa Clan, why on earth would they do something like this"

you shook your head "I don't know, but I know my mother won't spare them, to try assassinating A Clan Leader Is a crime, but to try killing the daughter of the Shogun It's an even bigger crime with a heavy punishment that they cannot bear, I know mother is patient but when she's angered there's no stopping her, even If I went there now, I couldn't stop her fury"

Ayaka let out sigh, "Well, let's leave this to brother and Her Excellency, to see how they deem It"

you nodded, having another sip of your tea, Thoma then left you both as he went to speak with the guards outside the estate, by Ayaka's orders he told them to strengthen security.

At the Shogun's Palace, Ei had been informed of what happened, full of anger and fury she ordered that the ninja be brought to her Immediately, along with the Takatsukasa Clan Leader, who upon seeing that the mission had failed tried to flee, but he was soon caught and transported to the palace, Ayato came along as well giving her more details she needed 

Ei was pacing back in forth, Ayato was standing off to the side with his eyes closed, just then the guards brought the seven men In, the six ninja were already In cuffs, the Clan Leader walked in almost stumbling as he was clearly afraid for his life, Ei turned to look at them 

her eyes were glowing a Lavendar color, "Susumu, Explain yourself Now"

he threw himself onto the floor, bowing low "Almighty Shogun Please Spare me!"

She turned "And why should I, you sent Ninja to assassinate my daughter and son in law"

he looked up, "I...I can explain!"

just then Ayato walked over "Then why do you still quibble, speak clearly and explain"

Susumu looked to Ayato with a scowl "You...I really can't stand you, Ayato Kamisato with you and your prideful expressions, I wish I'd killed you myself"

Ei Turned, lightening danced around her "Silence!"

Ayato bowed "Your Excellency, why don't we ask one of his subordinates, since he's not willing to speak"

Ei let out a sigh "Very well"

Ayato went over to one of the Ninja, he chose the one you'd elbowed in the nose, taking off his mask to reveal a man with a scar over his eye, but also a broken nose, Ayato pulled him by the collar pushing him to kneel before Raiden Ei

just then outside, thunder could be heard rumbling, Ei then summoned her sword 

"Speak"

the Man started to tremble "Your Excellency, Master devised a plot so that the Clan would rise In terms of Power, he thought that if he had Kamisato Clan Leader killed, then the Takatsukasa clan would take it's place, Master has always loathed the Kamisato Clan"

Susumu turned "Haru!"

Ei started to walk a bit, "Then what of my daughter, why did you plot to kill her too"

Susumu bowed, "I didn't...I.., she's the princess of Inazuma how could I dare!"

Ayato walked up to him, "Those who do evil would dare to do anything, and you are no different, you're the one who devised this scheme but yet you beg for mercy"

Susumu stood up, "I've had It with you! the Kamisato clan has always trampled upon us, you arrogant lout you are no better than your father he was a coward just like you, handing the reigns over to an Ignorant boy!"

Ayato felt anger rise up within him, but he suppressed It as he clenched his shaking left hand

Susumu reached for his own Katana, he unsheathed It "If I kill you now, then the Kamisato bloodline dies with you!"

Ayato sighed, he then dodged his swipes as Susumu attacked him, Ayato then kicked his heel making him fall over, but then Susumu got up to strike but then, Ei channeled her power diverting the Katana out of his hands, the force made him topple onto the ground 

"That is Enough!"

Ayato bowed "Forgive me Almighty Shogun"

Ei placed a hand to her brow "you didn't start this fight, there's no need to apologize the fool Insulted your honor and family"

Susumu picked himself off the floor, but then his subordinate Haru inched forward 

"Your Excellency, he also plotted to kill the princess in order to take advantage of Inazuma from the underground, one night I heard him speak of becoming the Shogun himself"

Ayato furrowed his brows, "That is absurd!"

Ei took In a breath she then walked up to Susumu, he inched away In fear "You want to become the Shogun, the last time you couldn't even become Tenryou commissioner yourself even though your plan then failed, and It's failed once again....How Dare you"

thunder crashed through the sky, the room started to fill with a great wind, Ayato steadied himself, but Susumu tumbled backwards a few times

she leaned in close, her eyes glowing with fury "Remember this Susumu, in my realm I am the Shogun and those who do evil will be punished" 

the thunder and winds soon stopped; Ei called for the guards to return

"Have them all passed on the sword Immediately," she ordered 

the guards bowed "Yes!"

Susumu turned, fear filled up In his eyes he then looked to Ayato with hatred, he lurched towards him but Ayato countered him, twisting his arm behind his back 

"Ayato Kamisato...may you rot in hell!" he spat

Ayato blinked his blue eyes, "but I am not the one who committed a crime, it is you, so who do you think will be the one, rotting"

the guards then took Susumu as he yelled out profanities, dragging him out of the main hall along with his six ninja, and they were never heard of again

Ei Turned "This matter is over, Ayato, please continue your duties well and keep my daughter safe, I believe I should Implement new laws In Inazuma for these types of crimes"

Ayato bowed "yes of course I will, your Excellency please do as you see fit"

Ei then dispersed her sword, signaling Ayato that he may leave, he bowed one last time before turning to leave the Shogunate palace.
