Love was like a drug.

The more you wanted to get away from it, the more you would be forced to face the reality itself.

"Oppa, that's enough." I sighed as I sat beside Luhan and pulled away the liquor bottle from his hands. He lowered his head, and rubbed his eyes. "Why don't you just confess? Eun sang unnie might say yes to you. There's a chance."

Luhan chuckled and looked up. "There's no chance for me."

"You must tell her that you have seen her in college and how you've always always helped her behind the curtain," I told him. "You never know how she feels unless you ask her about her answer."

"Sunhee." He held my hand and I frowned. "Do you know why Tao has never asked for your answer?" When he saw my surprised face, he smiled. "Tao told me that he confessed earlier. He never forced you to answer his confession."

I nodded slowly. "He never did that. Tao says that I should answer him when I'm ready to say yes."

"Are you ever going to be ready to say yes?" Luhan asked. I looked away, not knowing how to answer without offending him. Tao was his friend. "Sunhee, he's still in denial. Tao is not ready to hear no. That's why he never asks for an answer."

"Do you... Do you think unnie isn't going to say yes to you?" I squeezed his hand when his smile fell as he nodded. "Why? How are you so sure?"

"Because... she likes someone else."

"But you liked her first," I blurted out. "That's unfair."

"It's not." Luhan ruffled my hair. "You don't choose whom you like, Sunhee. But, you can do something. You can walk away if it becomes too much."

My eyes widened. "You're going to ignore Eun sang unnie from now on?"

He shook his head. "No. It's not too much for me yet. I'm happy with her friendship."

"Oppa, who is this person? That unnie likes?"

Luhan let go off my hand. He stood up and sighed. "Let it be. You'll know about it soon anyways. I'm off to dorms now. Will see you soon." Patting my head, he turned away and placed his hands into his pockets before he walked out.

My heart sank. This was what heartbreak felt like. Huh. I won't ever have it. I won't fall in love with anyone. Anyone. I only had a crush on Jongin. I would make sure it won't turn into love. I would make sure to keep boundaries between us. Yes. That was the only way to protect my feelings.

Speak of the guy, Jongin walked through the door with a bright smile. I smiled back, got on my feet and threw my arms around him as he twirled me around. "Oh Sunshine, how I missed you." He placed me on my feet and cupped my face. "Life is actually boring without you."

My heart thundered in my chest. "Really?" I hated how hopeful I sounded.

"Would you like to dance?" Jongin let go off my hand and went to the stereo, turning it on. He gave me his hand and I grinned before taking it in mine.

"Aren't you tired?"

He twirled me around, and we swayed. My back against his front. He chuckled against my ear, earning a shudder. "Do you know why I call you sunshine? Because you lit me up whenever I see you. I don't ever get tired when I see you."

"Same. I hope you know that you make my day, Jongin." I turned around to look at him.

His fingers hovered over my cheeks, lightly brushing my skin. "Thanks. It's a relief to know that you need me."

"I'll always need you." I pinched his cheek. "Exo-m has a schedule this weekend, no? I'm on guard for Eun Sang unnie that time. Will you join me?"

"Of course. If I'm free, then I'll join you." He stared at me for a long moment. My eyes fluttered. His gaze was no joke. "Do you... Did you want to date Taemin? I'm sorry for interfering in between you two."

"Why would you ask that?" I frowned.

"I don't want to be an asshole, sunshine. I don't want to share you with anyone. Your time. But, I don't want to hold you back as well." He smiled softly. "So tell me, shall I set you up with Taemin?"

"Tao will be mad then," I muttered, even though I had no intention of dating either.

"Choose then. Let me know. Your happiness is what I want." He lowered his head and kissed my cheek.

And I knew, I just knew I was not only going to fall in love with Kim Jongin, but I would also enjoy and regret every second of it.
