A wet pillow underneath and the coldness of her room were all it took for her to welcome herself into the dreaded world. Yet, she laid still for another hour, maybe longer.

    Letting the surroundings sink in until it was all she could think about. Finally, removing the sheets, she looked in the mirror. She smiled at her disheveled state, finding her eyes look prettier with the smudged eyeliner. She'd try again.

     Running a hand through the tousled mess of her hair, she walked the steps to her daily routine busying herself until night rolled in once again. She sat on her window, feet hovering a few meters above the vacant ground. The new year's party had to go on for good three days. And she was ready to go.

    She heaved a sigh, staring up through the mist at the barely starry sky. She was still hoping. Still blaming. Still missing. But she was okay.

But she was okay.

They all were.

But her.
