Knees slightly shaking, Stella stood. Her underlander sandals putting one foot in front of the other. It was as if there was a magnetic attraction between the prophecy and her. When she'd reached the wall, she forced her eyes to read the name of the prophecy.
"The Prophecy of Hearing," she whispered to herself.

.
Stella swallowed hard and forced herself to read the prophecy in her head. She could feel Leo's presence next to her, and it felt reassuring. Her eyes followed the rhythm of the prophecy.
Hear the many feet that stride
Hear them marching side by side
See their armies lined in rows
The Underland they will enclose
Hear the beating of her heart
Hear her call as she departs
Calling to the ones that hiss
Their past that she will reminisce
Hear their cries full of tense
Hear them setting their defence
The foe shall rise and isolate
The Underland they annihilate
Hear the beating of her heart
Hear it stop when torn apart
See the arrow pierce her soul
What will be their utmost goal?
Hear your neighbours as they gather
Hear their steps as they scatter
See them falling one by one
Had the bloodshed just begun?
The rhythm stopped with the words. Stella closed her eyes as those two phrases hammered in her brain:
Hear the beating of her heart
Hear it stop when torn apart
That was it, obviously. The part that nobody had wanted to tell her.
Hear the beating of her heart
Hear it stop when torn apart
Not even Ripred — and you had to figure that rat was used to breaking bad news to people after all those years of fighting in wars.
