"Really?" I smiled.

"Yeah."

"Oh yeah!" Brian snapped his fingers, "the chick that recorded for us in The Art of Subconscious Illusion!"

"Oh dude, I remember her." Zacky said.

"Who was she?" Ashlyn asked as she plopped down on the couch next to Zacky.

Wow Ashlyn okay.

"She was a friend of ours in high school. Too bad we couldn't catch up with her." Matt said as the band nodded.

"Yeah while you assholes fucking tormented me she was the only one that actually like, didn't." Johnny said.

I wanted to speak up.

I wanted to.

But Ashlyn was here.

And she would be pissed at me if she found out because after all this time I didn't even tell her.

Wait.

I furrowed my eyebrows and checked my phone.

I still had their numbers.

Well, only Johnny and Matt.

Maybe I could text Matt and see what happens.

'Hey Matt, it's Talia.
Don't tell the other guys yet
but the Talia you're talking
about is right in front of you.' I typed and sent it.

I was hoping and praying that he didn't change his number.

I also cringed at how cheesy that message was.

'Is right in front of you'

What even...

But when I heard a phone go off, I smiled.

But my heart raced.

Matt looked down at his phone while the guys held conversation with Ashlyn.

It was then he furrowed his eyebrows and looked at me.

I stupidly gave the singer a crooked smile and a shrug.

He smiled and tucked his phone away.

He nodded his head as if telling me to follow him.

It was weird.

I didn't even see these guys as my favorite band or even Ashlyn's favorite band too.

I just saw them as the same guys I hung out with in high school.

"Well, well, well," Matt crossed his arms and smirked at me as I grinned shyly, "how nice of you to speak up, Tal."

"Hey, my friend doesn't know you and I and the guys go way back, alright? I didn't want to create a commotion. But I still had your number so..."

"You still have my number?"

"Well, ye-"

"What's yours?"

I just blinked at him.

I was so confused what was going on and it wasn't even a minute conversation.

"I mean, I kinda deleted your number after graduation." He guiltily sighed.

It kinda hurt my feelings, to be honest.

But I let it go.

"Oh, um here," I typed my number in his phone.

"So! Talia Talia Talia..."

"M. Shadows M. Shadows M. Shadows.."

"No, you call me Matt, remember?"
