word of the day: luminance
the physicist, exhausted, asleep upon the sofa,
had left the stove aflame. his house now blazes over.
he sees his father in a dream, despite ten years deceased —
booming with strange luminance: "son! get on your feet!"
...the firefighters douse the house — surprised that he's alive:
"if you had slept some minutes more, you wouldn't have survived."
the physicist is grateful for his father's visitation.
though sceptical of spectres, he believes this one salvation.
