Word of the Day: Provoke

I sing to coax the clouded sun, to soothe the doves that coo.

I sing to quell the lightning skies that clash and clamour too.

I sing to lift the Bell-Jar glass that aims to suffocate.

If only I could sing to make the despots abdicate.

Some scriptures say I'm bound for Hell but here I stay and sing.

I dare disturb the universe with music reckoning.

Some say my kind should not exist, that we should be destroyed,

But dolce, I dismiss and let my kindness kill their noise.

As long as I have air and breath, I'll sculpt my voice to bloom —

Defy the odds, provoke cruel gods and sing the tyrants doom.
