"Jaemin."

Jaemin looked around trying to find the source of the voice.

"Jaemin, over here." Jaemin turned to see Chenle in a bird form flying by the doorway. Jaemin could hardly see, for it was dark.

"You can talk like that?" He asked.

"Yeah, though it sounds weird, doesn't it?"

Jaemin frowned. It did sound strange. It was higher pitched. He could hardly recognize who's voice it was, until he realized it was a small yellow bird. Jaemin got up from the ground and dusted off his pants. He heard a small thud hit the floor and knew Chenle had turned back into a human.

"It's faster to come up here flying." He giggled in his usual voice.

Jaemin kept quiet. He didn't know what to feel, but he wasn't in the mood for laughing.

"Hey, it's okay;" Chenle sighed, "I'd get you out if I knew how, but I don't. Jeno told me to take you to your bedroom though. He's a little messy at the moment."

"Messy?" Jaemin laughed in disbelief. "Why is he offering me a room anyway? Did he suddenly feel bad?"

"The thing is..." Chenle softly took Jaemin's wrist to walk him, then took a torch, leading the way. "Jeno is not as bad as you'd think. This whole thing was not entirely his fault if I'm honest."

"His fault?"

"Maybe I need to stop talking, or I'll say too much." Chenle gave an awkward laugh. Jaemin just let Chenle lead him.

The two got quiet on the way. Jaemin had nothing to say. The walk felt long, but he didn't take his time to look around. He was waiting 'til he got to the room so he could cry in peace. He wiped the little tears that had managed to escape before Chenle turned to him.

"I'll let you settle in then." Chenle smiled sadly.

"Thanks."

He walked inside, closed the doors and sat on the large bed. He let himself cry and wallow in self pity for a while. Who wouldn't cry if they lost their father, mother, and freedom all in one day?

He laid back on the bed, closing his eyes. It was a really nice bed, softer and fluffier than his bed back home, but somehow it felt less comfortable. Jaemin glanced around to see a window near. He peered outside to see the heavy winter surrounding the castle.  He thought of taking the bedsheets and making a rope to climb down and run away, but he realized it would be pointless. The boy didn't know how to leave and he had made a promise, one he wasn't sure he would keep if he was offered a way out.

While Jaemin kept glaring at the cold weather that reflected his emotions, he heard a knock at the door. He pulled the cover he had found closer to himself in a protective manner.

"Please go." He spoke out. He was glad he had locked the door.

"Hey...it's Donghyuck. I brought tea." Jaemin sighed, once again, he wasn't the biggest fan of tea, but he would admit, he needed the warmth right now.

He walked up to the door to unlock it and Donghyuck walked in with a rolling tray that carried the pot and cups. Jisung walked carefully behind him, carrying a small box, followed by a small fluffy white dog.

"We didn't know what kind you'd like, so we brought a bunch." Donghyuck said, motioning Jisung to hand him the box, while the deer-like boy poured hot water in the teacup.

"Why didn't you warn me?" Jaemin looked  at Donghyuck with a small frown, who looked surprised.

"What?"
