Plot Gist: Rory comes home to meet the child you and Lorelai adopted recently.

"you get to meet your sister today" you informed the little boy who went by the name of James as you got him dressed

"Rory?" the 4-year old asked

"yep, Rory" you nodded

"will she play with me?" he asked tugging on your hand as you stood up

"oh I'm sure, she already loves you... why don't you go find mommy hmm"

as you watched the four-year-old run out to go find your wife you smiled at the thought of seeing your little family come together soon.

I guess you had gotten lost in thought because Lorelai came up to retrieve you

"Whatcha doing up here... Rory's here" she informed putting her hand on the small of your back

you smiled at her nervously and she stopped in her tracks knowing that expression way too well.

"what's wrong sweetheart?... what are you worried about?" she asked sweetly moving her hand to your side where she gently caressed you reassuringly

"if it's about Rory and James you have no need to worry they're downstairs playing with legos-"

"it's not that... I was just thinking. that's all, I'm fine" you forced a smile at her.

"come on I want to spend some time with Rory before we have to go to your moms" you grabbed her hand that was just on your waist and led her downstairs

"Rory" you cheered holding your arms out for her

you watched as she got up from her spot on the floor with James to embrace you

"oh y/n I missed you" she stated truthfully into the hug

"come here let me see you" you pulled her head out of your shoulder to admire her.

"come on come on" your sweet moment was interrupted by James pulling on Rory's arm

"I see you two have gotten acquainted" you smiled at them letting go of Rory completely and ruffling Jame's hair slightly

you let the two of them continue to play with legos on the floor as you took a seat on the couch next to Lorelai.

"I'm so glad they're getting along" you stated truthfully as Lorelai dropped her legs over your lap

"I mean what did you expect it's Rory" she was right. although, it wasn't Rory you were concerned about.

"I know. I'm just glad that James is opening up. I was just a little anxious before... do mean you remember how long it took for him to open up to me" Lorelai listened to you rant as she stroked your hair sweetly

"hey you know... maybe we can get Rory to babysit of us" she gasped as if that wasn't her plan this entire time.

"I can still hear you, you know?" Rory stated sarcastically from her spot on the floor

the two of you giggled slightly to each other

it was nice to have Rory home. with all 4 of you there. you finally felt complete. you were finally family.
