It had been six days since Jolie was first threatened with being sentenced.

At this point, the paranoia had passed, and she was beginning to think that George, Fred, and Lee had either found something better to do, or had forgotten about the ordeal entirely. She hadn't heard a peep from any of them all weekend. She might be proven wrong in Potions later, but for now, they all seemed to be preoccupied.

Perhaps one of the Gryffindors had finally spilled the beans about the Triwizard Tournament. The majority of Slytherin House already knew about it, thanks to Draco, but the news had remained lull so far amongst the other three Houses.

If any of those three boys had caught wind of the news, they would likely be entirely focussed on the tournament rather than getting revenge on Jolie.

At least, she hoped this was the case.

Either way, Jolie was happy to still be in one piece as the second week of school began.

After an entire weekend of glancing over her shoulder and being mindful to never have her back facing a doorway, she finally felt relaxed.

On Tuesday morning during their study period, Jolie sat beside Madeline and Daphne at one of the long tables. The Study Hall was bustling with noise (just as it always was when Madam Hooch chaperoned). With hisses and whispers of gossiping witches and wizards and stifled laughter from the second years in the same period, Jolie and her friends talked freely amongst themselves.

Daphne was covering the words in her Divination textbook, only revealing a picture of what seemed to be a cluster of tea leaves as she held it up for Madeline to see.

Jolie grinned as Madeline squinted.

"Is it a... rabbit?"

Daphne's expectant smile immediately fell into a frown.

"No, Madeline, it's not a rabbit," she huffed. "That is the Blackbird—!"

"How can you tell it's black?" Jolie inquired, holding back a laugh. "The tea leaves are brown."

She and Madeline snorted. Daphne scowled.

"You hush your mouth," Daphne hissed at Jolie. "You might not believe in Divination, but this is my expertise—"

"I never said I don't believe in it," Jolie reminded her. "I said that Trelawn—"

"Trelawney's a phony and a drunk and no one should waste their time in that course," Daphne finished, using a dumb baby-voice.

Jolie shrugged. "Well, I didn't sound like that, but, yeah. That's the gist of it."

"She's not that bad," Madeline sighed, shaking her head as she laughed. "Trelawney, that is."

"I'm Jolie and I don't like subjects I'm not immediately good at—" Daphne went on tapping her fingers to her thumb in a talking hand.

Jolie swatted at Daphne's hand. "What are we? Nine?"

Daphne giggled and Madeline snorted into her hand. Jolie glared between the two girls, then squared her shoulders.

"Whatever," she huffed. "She is a drunk."
