and the courtiers! how could i not write them

• she writes to you because she thinks it's cute. and she's right
• her envelopes are decorated with lacy knit ribbons that were once white, but are now kinda grey because of dust
• tells you about nothing in particular, but gives lots of compliments
• (lets face it, she would think you're the nicest just because you don't punch her. and it's sad.)
• cookie crumbs in envelopes
• her handwriting is tiny and rounded, all letters connected, but word spacing is normal.

• they send you letters on holidays, in all other cases they come to talk
• no envelopes we die like victims of the plague
• pages are just folded in quarter
• they congratulate you, wish you all the good stuff and all, and say you're rad
• lots of swearing and the paper is torn in some places because they were pressing too hard
• but you are touched. or scared. they are sure you should be touched
• i also hc that they're left-handed
• handwriting is all huge capital letters, you can hear their screams when you read it.

• he writes you without reason and it's mildly disturbing
• the paper is moist. the envelope is moist. if left unopened, it turns into mold
• tells you irrelevant and too specific facts from his life. say, a detailed description of what he did from 7am to 8:24am this morning
• the questions he asks you are also uncomfortably specific. what did you have for lunch? did you choke on it?
• he thinks this is what it means to "get to know each other"
• his handwriting would be normal if not for the lines - on unlined paper they go up and down.

• if they write to you, it probably means something is wrong. it's most likely a prescription or a diagnosis
• you'd expect their handwriting to be an absolute mess and the envelope to be bloodstained
• but it's all clean and neat. the letter has no personality, except for the smell of iron and sanitizer
• if they trust you, the letter will be signed with their true name. you won't be able to read it. your eyes will hurt and the memory will be a red blur, and you'll lose perception of time for a while.
