there's a scene in my fic that involves washing a characters's hair and styling it and i absolutely adore this type of non-romantic intimacy so here we go

• nervous to touch your precious hair T°T
• but surprisingly, she's good at making different hairstyles. she used to do it for herself when she was human and food wasn't her only concern
• now she's beyond happy to revive this skill! expect your hair braided intricately and secured with shiny hairpins with jewels on them
• speaking of hairpins.. hold them for her or.. you know how people hold them in their mouth when both hands are full? don't let that happen, she'll feel guilty and possibly physically ill
• if you style her hair, it feels like a dream to her
• she loves feeling beautiful and would spend more time on it if she could..
• if you know how, trim her hair, she chews at the tips sometimes. wash it with flower-scented soap and style it however you like. get the girl a pretty masquerade dress and go party together and enjoy yourselves!!

• as much as i hate to admit it, they don't have hair. underneath the headwear are just red beetles. underneath the rest of the clothes are also beetles
• (but if they had hair it would be red and ragged, cut with a sword and washed with blood of enemies)
• if you need help with your hair, BEHOLD
• they can tame even most stubborn hair in a fraction of a second
• messy buns with hairsticks (like chopsticks but specifically for hair)
• because they know how easy it is to grab someone's hair in a fight, and don't want this to happen to you
• don't expect anything pretty, but quick and practical
• though they don't see it as a cute and cozy activity. just a boring necessity, so they'd highly approve of you chopping your hair off with a sword at 3 am
• or burning it. they can help with that. they'd love to.

• will argue hysterically that he hasn't lost most of his hair. won't let anyone touch it. okay maybe you, because you're special, but no one else
• gives weird compliments about your hair, like.. like "it's exactly the color of earthworms' belly" or "it smells like soil"
• he has no idea what to do though. hyperresponsibly reads about different hairstyles but can't follow even step-by-step guides for his life
• no bangs obscuring your vision, no messy buns, no loose strands. if he figures out how hairpins work, expect all your head covered in hairpins because. it's easy and convenient, why not
• if he messes up ur hair he just gives u a hat like his and you go about your day as cool hat buddies.

• similarly to vulgora, i headcanon that they don't have anything under these bandages, like there's no hair, just red undulating mass of flesh and bones and pure horror
• (but if they did have hair it would be dirty blond, either wavy and cut at chin length, or coily (4b) and long)
• about your hair though... it's not falling out or anything. what else do you want?
• reminds you not to give others access to your biological material as easily. hair, nails, all that can be used in spells against you
• if you somehow convince them to style your hair, they will trace the lines on your head along which skulls are cut open during dissection, while telling you all the details of it
• also. hair is just dead epithelial cells. your head is covered in dead cells. so is your body
• the hairstyle they give you is a simple braid. maybe it meant something in the ancient culture they once were a part of.
