The DUFF... a fanfic adaptation

JUNGKOOK

First tutoring session for today and you're finishing up with your own homework at the library while Jungkook is in football practice. You sat by the window to get a view of the field so you'd know how much longer to wait for him.

You're suddenly interrupted by a text from a familiar number. Ahhh Jungkook.

JK: Hey I'm just hitting the shower. I'll see you in 15.

AMY: I'll wait by your car.

Huge mistake for you to wait by his car since it's been getting cold at night and you stupidly left your jacket in your locker. Good thing Jungkook came just in time and saw you shivering in the cold.

"Here!" He hurriedly removes his jersey and covers you with it.

"Thanks!" You said smiling as you slip both arms into the fabric.

"Sorry to keep you waiting in the cold." He says as he gets in the car beside you, adjusting the temperature to keep both of you warm.

"It's okay, I wasn't out there that long anyway." You hug your bag and lean on the window.

"Tired? 'Cause if you are we can resched to Wednesday." He says looking at you from the side as he pulls over their garage.

"No, I'm good. Can I just freshen up a bit to wake my senses. I'll be back in 10 mins." You went out of the car first but somehow your attention got caught by the sound of yelling from inside Jungkook's house.

It's not unknown to you at least that his parents have been like this for so long since the year started. The loud arguments became a daily thing and you know Jungkook would get out of there every single time, hearing him leave in his car to escape the scene.

Are they even aware that their only son is having trouble in school? Jungkook steps out and you went to his side to pull him to your house. "Let's study in my place instead!" That actually came out sounding too loud which made Jungkook doubt if you were being serious.

He somehow sensed something was up when you suddenly pulled him by the wrist and snuck in the backdoor of her house.

"Amy?... Geez honey, you startled me." Your mom says looking surprised at your sudden presence. However, her eyes got a bid wider seeing you dragging a boy along.

"Mom we're studying in my room..." You mouthed Jungkook's name and your mom got it right away. For the past hour or so his parents have been arguing loudly next door.

Knowing that you're studying with Jungkook at their house, your mom wanted to send you a warning that his parents are at it again with the loud arguments but she trusts that you can decide on your own. She was right.

"Oh hey Jungkook!" Your mom gave him a wide smile. "I made spicy noodles and parmesan chicken." Your mom said, pointing towards the stove.

"Thanks Aunty." Jungkook replied with a wide smile on his bunny face.

"You can eat ahead while I shower." You said while removing your sneakers by the doorway.

"Aren't you hungry?"

"Not really, I kinda ate my sandwich at the library." You said while slipping into your fluffy slippers catching Jungkook's attention. "What?!" You snapped at him seeing how he's making a face.

"Nothing... Just go shower I'll be right here." He says laying his knapsack by the kitchen stool.

You look back at him while he makes casual conversation with your mom. Its's amazing that after 6 years of not setting foot in your house he still managed to move around the kitchen fluidly like he lives here. He knew where everything is without second guessing.

You wanted to stay in the shower much longer but Jungkook might be finishing up eating any moment now so you hurriedly wrapped your body in a towel and dashed for the door.

You almost frozen in your tracks seeing Jungkook in your room, his back on you as he scans your book shelves. You try to tiptoe your way to the neatly arranged clothes you left on your desk.

Jungkook sees you on the reflection from a small mirror on your book shelf. He pretended to be focused on your books while you snatch your clothes quietly behind his back.

He teases you a little and pretended to move around sending you to run back so fast, leaving a laughing Jungkook behind.
