Y/N hummed to herself as she stared up at the misty sky above her. How long had she been in this wondrous new world? A world of shadows and misery that seemed perfectly chilly and yet... humid. It was the sort of feeling that your bones were as cold as ice while your skin felt like it was lava itself.
A shadow passed through the mist and Y/N paused in her humming, watching as a Nowhere Bird circled around above her. She had become accustomed to these strange birds. They would appear out of seemingly well... Nowhere. They would circle around a few times and then... disappear just as quickly as they had come.
"Run run... Fast as I can... You know where I'm going... You know who I am... Not one... To say that I can't... Threatening me drawing lines in the sand... Adrenaline is pumping... All or nothing," Y/N sang in her usual sorrowful voice. "Feel it coming... Hear my heartbeat thundering... You're still wondering where it's coming from... Feel it in my chest... Now it's in my head... Do you understand?"
The Nowhere Bird circled around Y/N, its large smoky wings becoming one with the mist. It was nearly impossible for anyone to tell where its wing started and where its wing began. Tiredly, Y/N lifted her hand in the shape of a gun and pretended to fire a bullet at the bird, smirking to herself as she dropped her hand.
It was fun...
Sitting here doing nothing...
"My blood... My blood... My bloodstream... My blood... My blood... My bloodstream..."
Y/N pushed herself up, slowly getting to her feet. The grass felt like nails against the balls of her feet, and she slowly pushed her feet forward, watching as her colourless feet skimmed the ground. It seemed that everything about her had lost its colour. All but her eyes. The one thing that she had been allowed to keep.
"Venom in my veins... Sparks go up in flames... Can't just walk away... Reckless is my name... Overkill insane... Careful what you say."
Y/N would have been surprised to see the Nowhere Bird set down in front of her, but she simply stared at it. Her eyes were murky with discontent and almost seemed shallow, as if they were muddled by merely a few inches of murky water. She took a step forward toward the strange bird and tilted her head to the side.
"My blood... My blood... My bloodstream..."
"My blood... My blood... My bloodstream." The strange creature repeated her words back to her, seemingly pleased by its mockery.
"Cross my heart and hope to die..."
"Welcome to my darkside..."
The bird flapped its wings and lifted off of the ground, hovering over Y/N for a moment as it scooped her up, its cold claws of death wrapping around her torso. It pulled her up into the sky, its wings beating slowly to gather more windless air beneath them.
"My blood... My blood..."
"My bloodstream..."
. . .
The boys gritted their teeth as they stared at the potion in Che'nya's hand. They didn't like the idea of entering a world different from their own, and they were even more unnerved about the fact that there was a high chance that they might not be able to get out of it again. There were a few other sources of nerves flitting about, like how Trey was nervous about any faulty aspects of the potion currently sitting in his friend's hand, and how Riddle was nervous about never being able to find Y/N.
"Remember our deal, Che'nya," Azul called, smirking as he sat behind his desk, his two cronies standing behind him. "You bring your sister back, she becomes a part of my elite."
