"Riddle~ "

"Yes, Y/N?"

"Can we get married?"

"W-what? N-no... W-we can't..."

"Why not?"

"We're still in school!"

"But we graduated!"

"Not yet, Y/N... I'm not... ready..."

"Okay. I'll wait for you."

... ONE YEAR LATER ...

"Riddle of the Roses will you marry me?"

"Y-Y/N... Not now..."

"Okay. I'll wait for you."

... SIX MONTHS LATER ...

"Riddle, will you marry me?"

"Y/N... I... I can't... Not now..."

"It's okay, Riddle. But now I ask you, will you marry me, Riddle? Even if your parents don't say yes?"

"N-not right now... We're still in school, Y/N..."

'Is she going to ask me again this year?'

"I'm sorry, Y/N..."

Y/N hummed quietly to herself as she sat in the garden behind her house, leaning back on the creaky iron arm of the garden bench. She paused in her reading and glanced over at the large ivy-covered house standing on the opposite side of the lavish gardens, smiling when she heard a crash from the kitchen. No doubt her brother was trying and failing, to cook them their mid-day meal. 

The young woman shut her book, ensuring to keep her finger between the pages to hold her place, stood up and slowly crossed the garden, pausing every now and then to stoop down and sniff the flowers as she passed. For the past six months, she had been away at a college, learning how to serve as an ambassador for the Queendom of Roses. She had decided that it was not the correct career path for her, and had decided to take a break before deciding what to do next with her life. The last thing she wanted to do was get caught up in a career that she would hate. Listening to a bunch of government officials shouting at each other did not sound like her desired career path, despite her ability to teleport quickly from one place to another.
