A Zen practitioner uses gathas, mantras, and reminders to supplement their practice. These are three reminders I wrote for my own practice.

🌱1

The very purpose of life is to inspire Happiness: in oneself, in others, in all of us and in all together co-being. To begin today, I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dharma, and I take refuge in the Sangha: the Three Jewels which shine in my conception.

🌱2

I am thankful for my health. I make this offering of thanks to the buddhas: those who heal the clouds and those who I meet every day. I smile at myself, and I will smile at those I meet. I treasure our time together, our each moment together, for no moment is twice or was or will be.

🌱3

Today I will practice compassion, practice tolerance, and practice patience. Who upsets me is my teacher, that which upsets me is a lesson. And once I learn, I will practice letting go. I will let go every hour and see the world anew. Precious moments, wonderful moments.
