Just another party kid

I'm just like a bird, assembling my nest,
And Mum says I'm golden, a real treasure chest,
Keeping others away, I shut my lid,
No one's set to realise: I'm just another party kid,

I'm not the one to admit to it,
I'll be the one to start something lit,
Maybe a party, maybe a fire,
Or perhaps it's my burning desire.

My intentions I can't control, my feelings I can't obey,
And when others ask, I say I'm just 'Okay',

But am I ok with the mess that I'm in?
Revitalising myself in alcohol to let out my sin,
My sin? Yes my sin, that singular occurrence it happened within,
Then I count and realise that my sins; don't really allow me to win...

No medals for me, except some therapy sessions,
An alcoholic awareness class, and countless more lessons,
I partied too hard, I lost my meaning,
Don't make this relatable, or you'll be grieving.
