Nate sat on the roof of his house looking up at the stars. He heard the sound of something cutting through the wind. It was his Aunt Gwendolyn landing on a platform of mana.

Gwendolyn: Hey, Nate.

Nate: Aunt Gwendolyn. It's been a while.

Gwendolyn: Your dad told me about what happened earlier.

Nate: I know, I went too far. I just had a lot to handle.

Gwendolyn: I know what's going on with you, Nate. I've known for a while.

Nate: Known what?

Gwendolyn: I can sense the aura of another Anodite. As soon as you emerged, I could tell.

Nate: Then why didn't you say anything?

Gwendolyn: I thought I could let you figure it out for yourself, the way I did. Nate, the thing is, Anodite's emotions are very strong. If you're angry, you are really angry.

Nate: You're saying I need to control my emotions? By doing what, meditating, like you? No thanks.

Gwendolyn: It doesn't have to be meditation. You just can't let your anger cause your powers to get out of control.

Nate: Yeah, I'll figure it out. Thanks, Aunt Gwendolyn.

They sat in silence for a while.

Gwendolyn: So, anything interesting happen recently?

Nate: Well... I got a girlfriend.

Gwendolyn: What?! Nice job, kiddo. Is she nice?

Nate: One of the best.

Gwendolyn: Pretty?

Nate: Very. Very pretty.

Gwendolyn: Try not to mess it up.

Nate: Wow, thanks for the encouraging words.

Gwendolyn: Y'know, I could train you, if you want.

Nate: No, I don't want to explore these powers further. It seems like a dangerous path.

Gwendolyn: You always were a responsible kid, Nate. I'll see you later.

Gwendolyn took off on a mana platform and Nate went back inside.

The JSA gathered the next day at lunch.

Beth: Sylvester searched the lab. No Dragon King yet.

Rick: But he could still be out there, so what do we tell Cindy.

Beth: She's part of the team. She needs to be brought up to speed on everything and I bet she could help.

Yolanda: I still don't trust her, okay? But I guess I'm open to it if that's what Courtney wants.

They look over to see Courtney distracted looking at her phone.

Nate: She is seriously zoned out.

Rick: Court.

Yolanda: Earth to Courtney Whitmore.

Courtney looks up from her phone.

Courtney: I'm listening.

Yolanda: No, you're not.

Courtney: Yeah, let's loop Sylvester in.

Nate: That's not even close to what we were talking about.

Cameron Mahkent stopped by the table.

Cameron: Hi.

Courtney: Hi, back at you.

Nate: (whispering) We're not that awkward, right?
