Author's Note: Claire didn't lose her mana core, here.
From Claire Bladeheart's point of view
Humility. Loyalty. Determination. Courage.
Those were the words instilled in me before I even understood what they meant. Those were the four qualities needed to have a heart as sharp as a sword. This was the creed of the Bladeheart family.
And these last few years I understood why those four words represented our family.
The attack on Xyrus' academy left a permanent scar on my heart, and showed me how weak I was.
Kai's betrayal, Theo and Doradrea's death, hurt far more than I'd expected.
We were the ones who were supposed to protect the students and yet we were no use against Drenevee and her henchmen.
But we almost didn't have time to cry for the dead after all, shortly after the attack, the continent of Dicathen was invaded by cities from the continent of Alacrya.
The word Humility means respecting everyone regardless of their race or social class.
The word Loyalty meant our loyalty not only to Sapin but to the entire continent of Dicathen.
The word Determination always meant fighting in search of an ideal future, a place where we could all live in peace and harmony again.
The word Courage means never giving up or running away from your duties.
After Arthur's arrival from his training, war was officially declared.
Speaking of Arthur he was a very constant variable in the messy equation of my life thanks to the events I mentioned earlier, even at Xyrus academy we maintain our colorful friendship, my moments with him were calm and tranquility our hectic days thanks to my duties as a student and leader of the disciplinary committee.
After four years I saw Arthur, he was side by side with the other spears he now seemed so unattainable, Arthur was always talented in both swordsmanship and magic but seeing him side by side with the other spears made me realize that he and I we are on completely different levels.
But for some reason it bothered me, I wanted to be by his side fighting and protecting him as true companions and who knows, even lovers.
**************
At one of the many camps in the beast glades.
The tent that Me and my old hand-to-hand combat mechanics teacher were in has opened.
"General Leywin!" Professor Glory and I saluted as soon as we saw Arthur, this was most likely not necessary but we decided to keep the formalities of the hierarchy of command.
"It's good to see you again." Arthur spoke.
"I say the same." Professor Glory went to Arthur and gave him a big hug, as soon as the two separated Arthur came to me and gave me a hug.
"I missed you Claire." He said in a low voice next to my ear.
"Me too." I responded by imitating his tone of voice.
Professor Glory gave Arthur a brief report about the fun she was the commander and I you the leader, she wanted to discuss combat strategies but he asked us to wait for Auddyr who was moving here with his debt, we gave a nod of understanding.
After our military duties were over we started talking about our lives until we got to this point where we are now, Arthur commented about his training, he didn't specify the place where he trained anymore just by the detail he told us we realized it wasn't Anywhere, my story and Professor Glory's were basically the same as soon as Dicathen was invalided we joined the mainland military forces, which is to say she wasn't as interesting as my old colleague on the disciplinary committee.
Arthur's face suddenly turned serious and he said, "What exactly happened on Xyrus? What's left of Xyrus Academy now?"
Professor Glory and I were silent, even though it had been almost five years it was still difficult to address this subject, which was already becoming almost taboo for the cities of Dicathen.
"Tessia doesn't remember much and Curtis and Kathyln act like nothing happened, like they don't want to accept what happened. What exactly happened before I arrived?" Arthur continued.
Now thinking about the day of the attack Arthur didn't even stay ten minutes from the gym, yet he became the center of that incident for the way he killed Lucas.
I sighed and started to tell him about Kai's betrayal, and the invasion of Drenevee with the corrupted mana beasts, ART kept a guy I'm at all the time just listening and directing the information.
"I think now I need to clear my head," Arthur said as soon as I stopped talking. Camp is quite lively." He added.
"Even in times of war people want to be happy." Professor Glory spoke with a half smile. "Claire show the newest general around the camp."
"OK." I replied
As soon as we left the tent we saw the busy camp.
"Claire."
"Hey."
"After this war is over I want to have a serious talk with you."
"What is this serious talk about?" I asked already thinking about the topics that this conversation could be about but there was one topic that hammered my mind.
"About us."
**************
After the end of the war which was far more catastrophic than I could have ever imagined, Arthur and I had our conversation, which as I expected he confessed his feelings for me.
We both got married, although we wanted to have a son or daughter Arthur said to wait for things to settle down and calm down as my husband was quite busy with his duties with the Dicathen council, after all they were supposed to establish the new cities for the people.
But even with this huge workload my husband was happier than ever and so was I.
