Sources close to the pair reveal that the two had gotten married in secret after a wild night out in Munich in early 2020, the two friends and current teammates were said to have divorced mutually once the USA international had decided to transfer to Chelsea from Dortmund later the same year. Laia Schmidt remained in Germany and continued to play for Bayern München on loan up until she returned to her mother club in July 2021, Pulisic was the former teammate of her cousin Julian Brandt who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund.
