The two groups sat in a circle around a table while Mobius spoke. "We only have two Kang variants left to find, we lost our chance to get one of then thanks to these two idiots" he shot a bitter glare at Absantine and Loki. The latter looked down at his hands and cleared his throat awkwardly while the younger of the two simply returned the glare with a sweet smile.

The TVA agent choose to ignore it and turned his attention back to the tempad in the centre of the gathering. "Thirty minutes ago we received a signal on this tempad, the one Loki and Absantine had with then, from Russia 2001". "Why would he be there?" Asked a confused Clint, Natasha glanced at her sister who has wringing her hands nervously.

"He's going the one place he thinks we wouldn't" Said Natasha "Where's that?" Asked the archer "the red room" clarified Absantine "2001 was the..." she paused "the year after Nat left, and the year that they brought me back". The room was silent for a moment "so he's targeting our trauma" Tony confirmed "well that's not fun" murmured Bruce.

"We have to go" said Steve before drawing his gaze towards Absantine "all of us".

Stepping out the time door, they glanced around at the grey walls of the building, Bruce shuddered "this is where you grew up" he asked turning to Natasha who nodded stiffly in response. "Okay, we can't let the younger version of Absantine see us, that would pretty much fuck up the timeline" Mobius told them "I can make us invisible to the human eye" Loki offered "dude you can do that? That's so cool!" Peter whisper excitedly. The god smiled slightly before waving his hand.

In a flash of green the group has invisible.

"Okay, come on" whispered Mobius "you don't have to whisper, they can't hear us either"  Loki informed him "oh, um okay, let's go then".

They began to walk in the direction of the signal. They passed a room full of young girls that couldn't be more than eight years old, they all moved in a perfect flow of harmony, dancing until their feet bleed. A tall woman yelled at them in Russian. "Who is that" asked Tony "Madame B." Replied Absantine, refusing to elaborate so Natasha continued "She was Dreykovs second hand, and the dance instructor".

The tempad beeped drawing all attention away from the ballet class and towards the device. "We're close" said Mobius, beckoning them to follow him. They walked in silence, passing an operating room that nobody cared to ask about given the sisters clear aversion to so much as looking at the door. Only Bruce knew why.

They reached a flight of grey stairs and began to climb the steep spiral. At the top there was a set of grey doors. "How are we supposed - " began Clint but he stopped when they opened and a guard stepped out, wiping blood off of his hands. "In there, the signal is in there" declared Mobius. The others stared at the blood in shock. Except Absantine, she knew exactly what was on the other side of the door.

They slipped in just as the doors swung shut. Inside was a small dark room. The grey walls had brown Mark's of dried blood seemingly spelling out something. Tony stepped forward to examine it, reading his findings out loud. "A.R 3/12/84 - ? 2000, A.R  3/12/84 - 3/6/2000, A.R 3/12/84 - 23/10/2000, A.R -" "that's enough" said Loki quietly. "What is this" Steve questioned "A.R" repeated Natasha slowly "what does it stand for?" Asked Peter "Absantine Romanoff" Said the Woman herself, drawing all attention towards her.

"Why" inquired Loki "I wrote my name and the date every time I thought they would kill me, so I would be more than just another body" She gestured to the corner of the room where a girl of about seventeen years old lay.

The girl pushed her self up using her hands, groaning with the effort. She spat blood onto the floor beside her and leant against the wall, panting and clutching her side in pain. "That's you" Peter whispered, he received no response as everyone watched the scene silently.

"I'm sorry сестра" Natasha whispered, Absantine smiled weakly in response. A man walked in wearing purple robes "hey guys, fancy seeing you here, I hope you enjoyed my little show, Absantine a trip down memory lane" "you" spat Mobius.

"Hi, yeah it's me" replied the man cheerfully. Everyone pulled out their weapons and prepared themselves for a fight "look, guys" began Kang raising his hands in defence "I don't want to fight, I'm sick of fighting you all, why can't we just talk this out you know?" He negotiated.

There was silence for a moment as nobody spoke. The only sound was the laboured breathing of the younger Absantine.

"You wanna talk, then talk" Steve said eventually breaking the silence. "Look , I know you think I'm in the wrong but - " a shot rang out and he collapsed to the floor. All eyes turned to Natasha who shrugged "I heard enough, let's leave".

Once they were back at the compound
They immediately began making plans for the last Kang.

Natasha pulled Absantine aside from the group and into to next room. "Absantine,I had no idea that's how you were treated after I left, I'm sorry" she told her twin. Absantine took in the apology before replying "it's not your fault, you thought i was dead" "but it was my fault you were dead - " the Avenger began but her sister cut her off "I don't blame you for that, you were looking out for your self and that's fair, I was spiteful and I shouldn't have blamed it on you when you were just following orders".

Natasha nodded slowly "besides you were always great at self preservation" Absantine laughed, but this time it was genuine rather that bitter. Natasha chuckled along with her.

"Thank you Absantine" she said, on impulse, she pulled her into a hug. After a moment's hesitation, her sister returned the gesture. After a minute they pulled apart. And Natasha turned to leave after exchanging a smile.

"And Nat" Absantine said, causing the woman to pause "you can call me Abbey" Natasha practically beamed with happiness at those words. So much so that Clint had to ask her if she was high when she returned to the meeting.

I've been listening to harry's house on repeat all weekend it's so good.
