The last Kang was harder to locate. After word spread about what was happening to his variants it was understandable that he would be concerned for his own saftey. He was Self preserving as Tony put it.

Mobius managed to find him eventually. They tracked his signature but just as they were gearing up to go catch him, Clint drew attention back to the screen when he spoke. "Guys...." he began "this says that Kang is here". "What" said Steve moving over to the archer "is he coming to us?" Natasha inquired, confused. "He's already here" Loki announced, looking out the window "And he's not alone".

The team gathered at the window, and sure enough, Kang stood outside, an army of Minute men behind him. A much larger army than before. The dictator spotted them form the ground and waved cheerfully at the group. "Dick" muttered Peter, earning some strange looks considering his usually innocent personality.

Kang turned and whispered something to a soldier beside him. "What is he doing" Bruce wondered aloud. Only when the soldier pointed her blaster upward did Earths  mightiest heros catch up. A last "Oh shit" could be heard from Steve before the weapon fired and the building collapsed around them.

When Absantine woke, everything was dark. She could taste the dust on her lips and feel the sharp dig of concrete on her back. She heard some one groan beside her with effort. She used her hands to push her injured body up to her knees, limiting the space around her.  There was a small crack of sunlight escaping through the debris.

The concrete began to shift so she pushed on, her back was tired and her will breaking but she kept going until she broke through. Once there was enough room to pull herself above the destruction, she did and gasped for air glad to be out of the enclosed space. No matter how many times she was out in those scenarios, Absantine hated small spaces.

Absantine looked around her and saw vast chunks of grey covered in dust. Her mind wondered to the others, if they were alive. She stumbled to her feet, still disoriented from the explosion. She had only walked a few meters before she heard someone coughing. She immediately reached for her weapon only to fine that it was gone. Actually, now that she was more awake she noticed that all her weapons were gone, even the widow bites around her wrists. So that was the purpose of the explosion. One purpose anyway.

She settled on a defensive position. Someone dragged themselves out of the rubble. After a moment Absantine recognized the figure to be Steve Roger's. She considered keeping up the position now that they were alone, she was reluctant to admit that he scared her slightly. The quite ones are always terrifying when angry and he had despised her for over a year. The grudge ahead like fine wine, only richer and purer that before.

Steve got to his feet and looked around, spotting Absantine he made his way towards her. "What's going on? Where's Kang?" He asked "I don't know, he took our weapons" she replied, the captain glanced around for his shield before absatmindly commenting "it's fine, we can fight".

"We need to get the others out" he continued "yeah" Absantine nodded in agreement. Steve coughed again, reminding the woman slightly of general grievous, she didn't voice it however as it seemed an inappropriate time. Also because he probably wouldn't understand it.

They picked their way back across the ruins, searching for any sighting of the others. A glimpse of red hair lead them to Natasha and a ripped piece of fabric with the slogan 'think like a proton, always positive' brought them to Peter. Now with three people they quickly found the others. The two gods having gotten out easily enough.

Once they had regrouped, they made their way out to the ash covered lawn.

The army stood waiting to face them. With no weapons they knew their chances were slim but they would not give up.

What ever it takes.

Loki still had his magic and Absantine still had her abilities so they used that to their advantage. Charging into battle in quickly became clear that the minute men did not have great training when it came to fighting. They relied far too heavily on their pruning sticks. Which were useless against people who dodged bullets for a living.

As the troops thinned Kangs expression began to morph from confident to the worried to full on scared.

After a lengthy and trying battle, they last of the minute men fled, not wanting to meet the gruesome faith of their companions. The group closed around Kang as he backed away.

Natasha snatched the gun from his hand when he pointed it at then with ease. She turned it around on him and shot him three time in the head. She turned away before Absantine jokingly reminded her to check for a pulse, just to be sure.

When they looked out over the barren area the impact of the Victory hit them all completely. "We won Mr Stark!" Peter exclaimed excitedly "yeah" smiled Tony "Yeah we sure did kid".

Thor pulled Loki into a adrenaline filled hug causing several protests form the younger of the two brothers.

Absantine smiled at her sister and pulled her sister into a significantly more gentle hug.

Clint and Brice talked happily, both just glad that they were done fighting.
Natasha and Absantines embrace was disrupted when the latter opened her eyes and spotted a pair of blue eyes staring back at her.

And they were not friendly either.

Only three parts left, all written! The ending is a bit cruel on my part but, oh well.
