Chapter 9
The End
Tears ran down my mom and my face as we just murdered my dad. My mom wipes her tears and walks over to me. She rubs my back and tells me it's over. We walk out wiping tears from our eyes and holding each other's hands. We grab our stuff and head back to the shelter. We make it back over the river and sleep through nights of bugs and bruises. When we make it back to the shelter Jason rushes over to me. Everyone claps and I finally feel like it's over. It's been about 15 years since then. Me and Jason got into a relationship and sadly Emma and Mia got into a car accident a few years ago and passed away. I spent a few years with my mom and once I turned 20 Jason proposed to me! We got married and a couple years later we had twins! We named our two baby girls, Emma and Mia. I now have my own house and family. You would think that all of this has changed me. But in the end, I am Emily. And that will never change even as I sit upon a swing, held by a phenomenally humongous tree almost dreamlike.
