A tribute to Sappho, the tenth muse.
I desire
And I crave,
The ones that cannot be mine,
And as I look upon you,
My heart beats in agony.
For you are not meant for me,
You and I are fire and oil,
We shall never be mixed.
But my love,
Suffocating me inside.
This flame within me,
Shall I douse it?
But how do I forget,
When you are the one,
it is burning for?
The world I would lay at your feet,
Treat you like the deity that you are.
My longing for you,
Never-ending, all-encompassing,
But you shall not be with me,
Ever again.
