GROUNDED!

"I hate being grounded."

Look. I like staying indoor as much as next person does, but that was out of my own volition. Being forced to stay indoor and being monitored? Not my cup of tea.

Alas. That was the tea I was forced to drink.

After The Incident (yes, capital letter is necessary) I was not allowed to leave the house and the "trial" was put on hold. I can still plan what to do when the trial resume, but until then, I would be grounded, and there's at least two guards tailing me around at all times.

No, Asher doesn't count as guard. He is my personal servant.

It doesn't help that he doesn't have any combat ability beyond bar brawling or whatever style his race dictactes.

First few days were alright. But after that

bored.

Pure Boredoom.

At least I can demand to be present during the reports. It concerns my safety after all.

That ugly creepy guy who orders me to be kidnapped was arrested. Further investigation reveals he has some... shady business. Deals with Black Market, okay, not much trouble here since, well, Black Market is not exactly illegal illegal, just frowned upon by society. Human trafficking? Now that, that was ground for jail for life and property seized. It doesn't help it happens for couple of times.

It has irregular occurences, though. Sporadic.

Privately, I think it was less of contractual business, and more of at whims of that creeper get irritated at someone.

He doesn't seems to think things through.

Really, kidnapping a noble scion? Sure, I am NOT the heir, but that doesn't mean I was overlooked. And he do it in broad daylight, in a town my family owned on top of that. Where knights regularly patrol to keep peace.

What kind of planning is that?! If I were to stage kidnapping, I would make sure it doesn't happens in such public space where many eyes are looking! Seriously! What did they take my family or the knight? Blind? And they don't bother to silence Asher at that.

Ugh! What an Idiot!

Though while the creepy old man is behind the bar until the day he rots away, the mercenary he hires to do the kidnapping, you know, the other guy who looks like he has actual brain between his ears, slipped through the search and his whereabouts is still unknown.

Which contributed to why I am grounded.

To quote, "Just to be safe. For your (my) own good."

I don't know whether to curse them or be grateful.

Still annoying AF, tho.

This is yet another moment where I miss modern world so dearly.

Back there, I can entertain myself with various things. Books, Movies, Games. Even just scrolling through internet or watching other shit-posting things in their account.

Here? The only thing that was avaiable was books.

(In attempt to pacify my mood, I got piles of books. From lesson books to latest and best seller novels. Hell, someone even snuck a cookbook or two.

Wish they had pictures.)

That and attempting in playing music or painting.

"Can't I go to the town?" I asked the hander--I mean guards. "You two can tails me."

"Apologize, young master, but it was still not safe at the moment." The taller one replied.

"In hindsight young master is also at fault for not having guard stationed." The long hair added.
