Chapter 62

"THANK YOU VERY MUCH!"

Y/n sighed softly as he wiped the sweat off of his face with the towel Shirabu threw at his face earlier after Ushijima announced that he was now the new Ace of Shiratorizawa, as unbelievable as it's sound they all respected it since even Coach Washijo agreed with the idea of Y/n being their new ace.

"Ace, huh?" Shirabu scoffed while standing in front of him with both his arms crossed against his chest

Y/n gave him an empty stare, his eye void with emotions as his lips remained in a thin line. Shirabu continued to glare at the male but suddenly his expression softened a little when he saw the bandage on his cheek and flashbacks of the day, he got hit on the face flashed through his mind

"I can't believe Ushijima San really made me the ace, there's a lot of players who's well deserving for the posit-"

"Stop with the monologues already, Ushijima-san chose you because of how strong you are." Shirabu said before walking away leaving Y/n with a look of pure surprise

"D-did he just complimented me?" He asked himself then shakes his head before going back to doing 100 serves

Days have passed since the competition and most of the volleyball players was busy warming up since they will have another practice match with the college students of Shiratorizawa

"Y/n-senpai, coach said that-"

"Tell that grem- Tell Coach that I can't play today since I'm still injured." Y/n said to Goshiki while pointing at his bandage cheek

Goshiki nodded and bowed before running off to their coach, Y/n sighed and fell back to the bench. He pulled out his phone and pressed on the call icon, he scrolled all the way down and his thumb hovers on top of the caller ID thinking whether he should call them or not

Shutting his eyes closed he pressed the button on the side of his phone turning his screen black, he opened his eyes once again and stared at his reflection for a few minutes; dark under eyes, dry lips, tired eyes and overgrown hair was what he saw and made his stomach churn

He couldn't remember when was the last time he looked at himself at a mirror, ever since those incidents have happened his life have turned upside down and now that he's slowly healing, he's starting to see how much it took a toll on his body

"Guys the match got cancelled!" One of the players announced

"Why?" Semi asked while holding a stray ball

"I have an announcement to make..." Coach Washijo answered while walking inside the Gymnasium

Not long after everyone is now gathered in front of the coach who was sitting on the bench with his arms cross against his chest.

"So, we lost to Karasuno..." he started and it created a gloomy atmosphere

"But worry not because this is just a beginning since it's not every time a person would always be a winner." He added

Y/n who was sat beside tendo leaned his head against his shoulder and played with the bandages on the male's fingers, already feeling bored and sleepy

"And even though we lost, there's more opportunities that keeps coming to us." The coach smiled and stood up

Everyone watched him as he walked towards the H/C male who was already dozing off beside Tendo his bangs covering his eyes-only showing half of his face, his lips agape and soft snores were heard

"I received a call and an email saying that L/N Y/N have been invited to The All-Japan training youth camp." The coach said

They all turned to Y/n who was still asleep on Tendo's arms shocked, it hasn't been a year since his arrival at Shiratorizawa and he already made it to the team, played with them and now he's invited to a camp where they train the best players

"Didn't Ushijima-san join the camp before?" One player asked

"Yes, and now it's L/n. damn he's really lucky huh?" one whispered back

"It's not called luck, L/N has talents and strength he just needs a little bit of pushing." Semi said while smiling at the two first years whole gulped in fear since they could feel that something sinister was behind that smile

"I have the list of students who got invited at the camp and one of the crows' names was there." Coach said while putting both his hands behind his back

"Is it Number 10?" Shirabu asked but the coach ignored his question and went back to sit on the bench

"Is it Kageyama Tobio?"

The coach stopped walking and turned his head to the side giving Y/n who was now fully awake a side glance

"Get yourself ready, that camp isn't something you should take lightly." Coach Washijo said before leaving the Gymnasium

Once the coach was gone, they all gathered around Y/N and congratulated him for being invited at the camp, Tendo has his arms wrapped around him while Semi was ruffling his hair and Shirabu was just standing with his arms crossed and a small smile on his lips can be seen

"You really made it!" Semi yelled

"Congrats, Y/N-Kun!" followed by tendo

"Alright that's enough." Shirabu stepped in and pulled Y/n off of tendo who glanced at Semi and saw that he was already giving him the look before bursting into laughter, irking Shirabu.

The copperhead male dragged Y/n outside the gymnasium for fresh air, the sun was about to set which mean there's a few more minutes left before they could go home or back to their dorms. The air was also refreshing, not too cold and not too warm just in between which makes it perfect.

"Thanks for getting me away from them." Y/n said while kicking a pebble

"I saw how you were about to cry so I decided to help." Shirabu answered

"I was not going to cry!" Y/n answered completely offended

Shirabu just shakes his head and sighed while watching the sun setting on the horizon while Y/n continued kicking the pebble until he accidentally kicked it with a bit of strength sending it far from him

"What do you plan on doing now?" Shirabu asked, Y/n remained quiet for a few minutes

"I want to be stronger."
