He doesn't know why or how but he felt like as if his body has a mind of its own

He didn't even know how he ended up right in front of the Boys volleyball gym at Five in the morning, he could see the lights are on and the sound of balls hitting the floor along with the screeching noise from the shoes

He was about to turn when a hand was placed on top of his shoulder, he turned to look and saw Sugawara smiling at him

"Came for practice?" He asked

"No, Excuse me" Y/n said as he gently pushed Suga's hand off of his shoulder and starts walking away

"You know, a few serve and spikes wouldn't hurt that bad" Suga said

Y/n stopped walking, he slowly turned around and headed towards the gymnasium with Sugawara trailing behind wearing a victorious smile

Y/n slid the door opened startling the three persons inside the gym

"Y/n..?" Tanaka asked but was startled more when Suga peeked from Y/n back

"Yo" he said while holding his shoes

"Suga-san!? How did you know!?" Tanaka asked surprise

Y/n ignored them and went straight to the bench to sat down and change his shoes that he unconsciously packed earlier

While tying up his shoelaces someone came up to him, he To looked up and saw a tall male with a black hair

"Are you Y/n L/n? The rising prodigy of karasuno?" A male with black hair who wears a long sleeved asked

"Yeah, what do you want? Autograph?" Y/n asked coldy as he went back to tying his shoe, Kageyama was. Completely caught off guard with his personality

"No, I'm Kageyama Tobio a first year, I've been admiring you for how you play, I've heard a lot about you and also about your last match" Kageyama said lowering his voice with his last sentence

"Well congratulations, you've finally meet the person who's nothing but a disappointment now excuse me I need to warm up" Y/n said brushing his shoulder against Kageyama's

Suga and the others have heard their conversation and shared concern looks at each other while Hinata looked at him with pure confusion

Kageyama clenched his fist and went back to practice setting a ball towards Tanaka who spiked it

While warming up, Y/n couldn't help but to watched how Kageyama tossed the ball towards Tanaka who perfectly slammed it down on the other side of the court

It was like back then, The way Sugawara would toss a ball towards him and spiking it towards the other side earning a point for them

The feeling of the ball colliding with his palm followed by a stinging sensation after slamming it so hard gives him a strange wave of nostalgia

"I want to spike too! Toss me one too!" Hinata yelled only to be glared at by Kageyama

"You like to toss right!? Come on give me one!" Hinata said only to be rejected by Kageyama

Y/n stood up and took off his blazer not wanting to put some sweat on it while he practice

Sugawara went beside him and tapped his shoulder, he turned to him and raised an eyebrow only to be met by a ball

"Should I toss you some ball?" Suga asked while smiling

"Yeah sure." Y/n said and stepped on the opposite side of the court where Kageyama and Tanaka is

"After the match on Saturday, stop bothering me." Y/n said, Sugawara held the ball tightly and wished to win so Y/n would come back to the team

It's not the same when they're not complete, it feels empty

"Sure.. We made a promise after all" Sugawara muttered before throwing the ball up and tossing it towards Y/n who ran and jumped high with his right hand ready to spike the ball

Everyone took a moment to watch as how Y/n jumped so high that he looked like he was Flying, Hinata has stars in his eyes as he admires Y/n while Kageyama watched him with awe

Meanwhile suga watched him with sadness in his eyes, If they lose with the 3 on 3 match on Saturday morning they would not just lose a match against tge first years but also lose a very good member and a friend

The sound of ball hitting the floor with a loud thud snapped him out of his trance, he watched as how Y/n landed and looking at his reddened palm, the gymnasium was quiet and only the sound of the birds chirping outside can be heard

"That was so cool!" Hinata Broke the silence

Y/n ignored him and went back towards the bench and sat down still looking at his palm.

There was aa weired feeling inside of him, the feeling of guilt and pleasure mixing up together

After the practice everyone except Sugawara have fallen asleep during class, Y/n who's eyes slowly closing due to sleepiness while writing down some notes sighed

'This is why I hate waking up early in the damn morning.'
