Olivia Thorne

I sat at home wrapped up in a blanket with my laptop in front of me resting in my lap while I scrolled through Instagram mindlessly paying attention until I got to a post made by a girl named Monica Lexington.

The post itself was simple showing a big expensive looking building followed by a second attached photo of a black and blonde haired girl dressed to the nines with makeup and hair that looked to be done by professionals along with the two other people in the back seat of what looked to be a Rolls Royce, and titled Upcoming Charity Gala.

Rich kids doing rich kid things I thought before realizing that it was a charity Gala and the building they were at was public and open for anyone who wanted to go.

Pushing the blanket off me I set down my laptop which was when I remembered Demetri was on the opposite side of the couch and had been on his phone which was originally when I went on my laptop.

"Where are you going?" he asks attempting to grab my waist but I had already gotten out of his reach.

"See what I have for fancy clothing because there is a charity Gala in Manhattan in a few days" I say gesturing to my laptop while fixing my top which had rose up slightly.

Is that what he was reaching for?

Wait why are you having thoughts like that he's your boyfriend he wouldn't do anything to you.

"This is an event for the rich not most of New York".

"Explain the relatively normal vehicles in the first picture" I quip.

"Probably the children of some fancy school, you're not going there Olivia, you'd be wasting your time, and you'd look and feel so out of place" Demetri says running a hand through his hair.

"I will be fine".

"They all are probably going to be in designer clothing and you will go in what exactly?" he pressed leaning forwards to stare at me.

"Do you not want me to go?" I ask, "is that what you're saying?".

He was silent caught in his action and let out a sigh.

"No, I'm just saying that you will embarrass yourself, and I'm trying to stop you from that".

You're bossing me around.

I would have found the endearment in it if I didn't know that Demetri was trying to do here.

"No you're trying to stop me from going, and I will find something to wear to go to that charity gala, and I am going" I assert firmly.

It was then that Demetri did something that I didn't expect he all but leapt off the couch and crossed the room before pushing me to the wall holding my wrists against the off white paint hard enough to make me know I will have bruising there.

"Listen to me, you are not fucking going to that event you hear me. No girlfriend of mine will be brushing shoulders with the richest people in Manhattan not a fucking chance is that going to happen" he practically yelled at me, and I started tearing before a single teardrop slid down my face.

It was then that I pushed him away from me and composed myself.

"Get the fuck out of here now" I state and he seems shocked.

"I will call the police for harassment if you ever do that to me again, now fucking leave, I won't ask again, or it will be tonight" I add before he swallows and walks towards the door and walks out slamming the door shut before I quickly lock it and stand on the opposite side of the door listening for the sound of his car leaving.
