One night I walked out of the front door of my house holding a cup of tea to head down to the garage and fix one of my cars.
I typically had luxury SUV's or a pair of trucks in here but there was a few sedans and exactly one supercar. A Ford GT Carbon Series that matched my Shelby in Beverly Hills.
Opening the garage I passed the selection of ten typical vehicles I had to the GT. In between the collection was a mini bar with a pool table, along with two mechanic benches that would be filled with Snap-On tools.
I had learned how to work on cars when young and though my father didn't approve of it, my mom's argument had been 'he's your son do you honestly think he won't want to work on his own vehicles'. From then on he never complained and actually was fine with me doing it, I just had to clean off before getting into the car to go back to the villa I lived in, in Switzerland during my last years there.
Setting the cup of tea down on the bar I took a pool stick, and removed the wooden triangle that held the balls in place for me to play a game with myself simply for practice.
I then left the cue for after I was done repairing my car and walked down to the car so that I could put it on the lift for repairs. The hydraulic fluid was leaking and in a vehicle as fast as this non working breaks weren't good.
Lifting the door I slipped into the front seat that was rather cushioned along with the mix of black piano laqeaured pieces with forged carbon fiber where Ford would have put matte carbon. Starting the car and revving it slightly I cautiously drove the vehicle into the repair and wash bay.
Getting out I shut the door before use the lift to have the car rise so that I could get at the hydraulic lines and the fluid tank. I would also have to check how the drive shaft and transmission was working since the leaked fluid would have possible minor wearing because of how I drove my cars.
Walking out from under the car I connected my phone to the speakers of the garage and began to play Måneskin loudly as I retrieved a padded creeper so that I could comfortably lie under the car and do my work.
Removing the underside skid panels that I'd paid extra for so that rocks and things wouldn't ruin the car I took one of the white felt markers I had and wrote out which side and orientation it would sit on before placing them down. Me and the boys once watched someone put a car back together wrong and when we pointed it out we were called dumb kids. Safe to say they ended up making a ten thousand dollar mistake and apologized later when we'd been right.
Singing along to the words I located the lines and followed them until I found the issue which was simple, thank god. During previous inspection at a body shop whoever did it forgot to properly seal the line to the hydraulic fluid tank.
At least the car wasn't improperly assembled. That would be expensive.
Removing the steel ring that held the line tightly I put a new one on and put a flat headed screw on tightly with a washer and nut so that I wouldn't end up with a repeat issue. Messing with the impact for a few more seconds as I inspected it I followed the line until getting to the transmission and looked at it to look at the gears which made me grateful I'd left the car running so that I could turn the gears by hand which weren't damaged at all.
Another good thing.
I typically caught issues but on the few cars I'd bought used I learned to just have everything inspected and if it was even thought to be an issue replaced. It was expensive but I never had a problem after doing it that I couldn't fix.
Rolling back to the front I put the panels back and put the bolts back before getting out from under the car and lowering it once more so that I could wash it.
I actually often allowed my bodyguards to drive my fleet of cars the only one's that were off limits were the one's in my homes in the Hamptons unless permission is given.
Once it had reached the ground I lifted the door and got in driving into the wash bay so that I clean the vehicle of dirt and grease that could be on the million dollar car.
When I finished washing and rinsing the car I took out a bunch of microfiber towels and began to hand dry the car since I knew I could get things that most people wouldn't expect off the car to make it look brand knew.
I eventually got back into the car and drove it back to its spot in the garage and then stepped back out before locking the vehicle and going to play a game of pool against myself.
I did it mostly for sake of accuracy, the boys and I used to do this and time one another on how long it took. The average time for each of us was six minutes.
Every time I missed a shot I would do ten push ups and it would double each time. The first time I did it with the boys I did seventy pushups for three missed shots. I was sore for a week after too.
Getting the final ball in I took the last sip of my tea and put everything back how it was before heading back inside where I started to clean up the cup I used, along with went to shower after pulling wrenches for an hour to fix something.
Stepping out after some time I got dressed once more, and decided I'd pour myself a non-alcoholic drink and watch a movie in my living room.
Walking out of my room I crossed the house and leaned on the back of the couch while I opened Netflix and found a show before picking something at random.
I then get myself a glass and get down a bottle before making myself a half neat with Coke Cola, before returning to the couch and sitting down this time to watch the horror movie that was playing on the screen.
Short chapter I know but I wanted a really basic chapter for today especially since I have plans and things, comment, vote, and share. AnywaysPeace✌
