I didn't want to go to this party, in fact I more then once considered turning around to go back home to the Hamptons, but each time I didn't I let myself do it.
I was motivated to go see Savannah who was hosting the party no surprise there though it wasn't the typical one she asked for it to be a little more civil then it normally was since it was the first one of the New Year.
Getting to the gates I was in one of my more I don't fucking care moods then normal so the level of excess that I was displaying was more then my usual. Parking the Bugatti Divo I had chosen next to Sav's car I pushed open the door and got out as expected dressed in all black but I'd purposely chosen from my Valentino collection, and had blatantly wished to remind all of my classmates that they may have privilage in the world but there will always be someone wealthier.
Shocking how often I do this to people too, I don't even have to say anything I just have to appear.
Locking the car I took long steps up the stairs to the front door of the house and walked in to be met by music, and the array of people that had chosen to come to this Friday's party.
Pocking the key fob I began making my way through the crowds of people who all were to busy to make space for me so I ended up slipping between them. I liked it though I felt normal and not like I was on a pedestal that the world put me on, I was human they needed to get over it.
As I got to the living room I ignored the chatter around me as I took a glass and immediately went outside shutting the sliding glass door the music died out and I was left to stand on the patio which was free of snow much like the driveway but I can say that was probably from the fact it had been heavily salted and likely then shoveled again to clear the salt.
"I thought I made it clear no one was supposed to be out here with me" Sav says turning her head slightly.
"Hmm, I was hoping to be the exception" I muse and she fully turned around a smile now on her face.
"I didn't think it was you, or that you'd come here" she says.
"And miss seeing this house not get trashed by the rich kids of Thornbrook, never. I also may use it to remind people that wherever I go I will always be the most powerful person in the room as a way to humble them".
"Are you sure it's not for your ego" Sav teases.
"Are you sure you being out here wasn't just a plan to have me find you" I propose raising the margarita glass I'd taken earlier to my lips.
The alcohol inside the glass tasted different and considering I had a bad history with the real thing I could tell it was the non alcoholic brand of rum in the glass.
"You didn't spit it out so either you don't care that's non-alcoholic or you stopped drinking".
"The latter Sav, also you skipped my remark" I say leaning on the railing and staring out across the lawn though I easily spotted the helicopter Aaron owned sitting but a hundred feet away.
"I wonder if your dad would mind if I took his helicopter for a joyride?" I smirk amused by the idea.
"Only if you could buy him another if it got damaged" Sav says, "because if you can't I doubt he'd let you".
I remained silent for a moment, I wasn't going to tell her that her dad's Eurocopter EC-130 would be in the hands of someone who was more then skilled enough to fly it, hell my own helicopter was larger and I learned how to fly that before anything else.
"I could do it Savannah" I say downing the rest of my glass and looking over at her, "let's go" I add before walking down towards the main grounds and making my way towards the helicopter while Sav smiled almost deviously like a kid who was getting away with taking an extra cookie from the Oreo container.
