Taehyung ended up spending the rest of the week in the hospital. It was definitely boring for him, but he enjoyed being able to catch up on some sleep.
He remembers Jungkook walking into the hospital room when he found out the male was awake; his face was filled with worry as he rushed towards the male's bed.
He chuckles at the slight memory of his best friend sitting by his bed, holding his hand when he was awake and asleep.
He teases Jungkook for it but seeing how much he cared for him felt nice. When he was discharged from the hospital, he stayed a few days at Jungkook's house and eventually returned home.
No comment from his parents, of course. He was not expecting anything anyways. The first time going back to school was definitely challenging. The word spread that he got beat up by Benjamin.
People still ask why but no one knows, not even Taehyung himself. Many people looked at him as he walked past, trying to head to classes. Whenever he saw Benjamin, he made sure to avoid him.
People came up and asked why he got hurt by the new boy. His reply was, "You will find out more information about it from him more than you would by asking me".
"Ayo Taehyung!" The brunette turned his head to see Jake and Choi rushing up to him, wrapping their arms around his shoulders as they snickered.
"It has been ages since we last saw you," Jake said, voice filled with happiness.
"It does feel like it has been a while", Choi continued. "How have classes been? I probably have missed heaps," Taehyung groaned, thinking about everything he would have to catch up on.
"Nah, not heaps, that basketball teams get called out today!" Jake said, fist in the air. "You guys tried out?" The male questioned, pulling out his chair and sitting in the empty classroom.
"Yeah, we both did to be on Benjamin's team. I hope we can get in," Choi said.
"I know, right! being able to play basketball and become friends with someone popular!" To say Taehyung felt a little hurt would be an understatement.
To think his close friends would want to be close friends with someone who hurt him made him feel like shit.
"Are you still dirty from not getting in last season?" Taehyung questioned, receiving a light chuckle from Jake, who shook his head.
"Nah, I know I would beat the other team's ass if I were on the team. I might finally get my chance," Jake smirked, high-fiving Choi, who also smirked.
Taehyung's eyes drifted towards the window, looking at all the people on the field kicking a ball, laughing and having fun. Sometimes he misses when life felt good.
He misses old memories and the old feelings he had. He feels like he is losing his purpose to live, feeling like a shell of a person.
That he is only on this earth for other people's benefit, always being people's last choice, punching bag. Sometimes he wonders if there is an afterlife, would he feel more at peace and happy there.
"Looks like Benjamin went hard on you", Jake snickered, pointing to the little scar above the brunette's nose.
"It's just a little scar", The male whispered in reply, not bothering to look at the male.
"Let me guess Benjamin is gloating about what he did to me."
"Yes, he is, as he should, though. It for sure makes him more popular" Jake chuckled.
"So if he hurt me, you would be on his side?" Taehyung questions, eyes now meeting Jake, who shrugged.
"If it would make Jungkook like me, then yours, but if not, then Benjamins", He smugly answered. 'What a fucking loser', The brunette thought, eyes turning back towards the window.
He questioned why he is still friends with Jake, Choi is not bad, but Jake is something else. He seems to only want friendships for his own popularity.
The bell had rung, and Taehyung closed his eyes, breathing in and out at the loud noise. Hoping it won't cause him a headache. After opening his eyes, he watched students walk in once the bell ringing stopped.
He rolled his eyes a little as every person that walked past him turned to look at him. 'I'm not a fucking zombie', He thought, looking back down at his desk as he scribbled along with the empty white pages.
He felt a hand ruffle his hair, causing him to look up after flinching a little. Jungkook felt his heart ache a little when Taehyung flinched from his touch.
"S-sorry, Gguk", The brunette muttered, knowing his flinching hurt the male's feelings. It may sound weird, but they were the prominent two people in each other's lives who felt so comfortable that it hurt to get that reaction.
"It's okay, Tae, don't apologise. Have you gotten any headaches yet?" Jungkook asked his best friend, worried that he may be getting some after the bell.
"The bell sounded louder than usual, but I am good".
"I saw Boram's Instagram post! Did you take her on a date yesterday? how did it go?" Taehyung questioned.
"It was okay. Then we argued at the end," Jungkook answered, giving a small smile to the male in front of him, who frowned.
"What, why?" He asked, looking concerned."I will tell you later."
"Okay, you better", Taehyung replied, giving a small smile to Jungkook, who chuckled at his cuteness before spinning around in his chair when the teacher stepped into the room.
