chapter 1

Ahaan was working inside his cabin. He was wrapping up a presentation for an important deal ,Almost everyone had left the office. He quickly wrapped his work. Took his blazer and went to his car.
He remembered about the argument rather mini fight he had with karthik. during the lunch break, his masterchef little brother had prepared a new dish and wanted him to try it, so he had come over .
Flashback
Kartik entered ahaan's cabin enthusiastically
Kartik- bhai yeh dekho mein aapke liye kya layi hu, chef karthik ke special
Mushroom risotto.
Ahaan- karthik Tu yahan
Karthik - aapko pata haina mummy , papa aur dadi do din keliye unke bhai ke yeham gyi he ,so the kitchen was mine to rule . Toh mein yeh banaya, aap ekbaar try karke dekho
Ahaan- teekh he
He ate the food prepared by kartik
Kartik - kaise laga aapko bhai
Ahaan- ghana toh bahut tasty tha
Kartik - haina, dekha mere kamaal
(Raising his invisible collar)
Yeh dadi hi mujhe faaltu mein sunate rehte he
Ahaan- par aaj toh woh ghar pe he hi nhi
Kartik - ha ,isiliye toh mein yeh bana liya, mujhe samaj nhi aata ki yeh dadi kabhi kabhi mere life ki villian kyu banjati he
Ahaan - tu har waqt dadi se ladayi kyu karte ho
Kartik - Abh kya karu bhai, woh mujhe kitchen mein ghusne hi nhi deti, har waqt bolti rehti he, yeh ladkiyon ka kaam mat karo, abh aap bhi batavo yeh koyi gender role thodi na he, ghar ke kaam sabko aana chahiye
Ahaan- dekh kartik tu dadi se behas karna band kar, woh badi he humse
Kartik - Aap kehna kya chahte he
Ahaan- dadi agar chahti he ki tum naukri karo toh usmein burayi kya he?
Kartik - toh aap bhi abh dadi ke taraf sochne lagi ho, kartik toh gharpe vela beta he
Ahaan- dekh mera woh matlab nhi he, par I think tujhe ek naukri doondna chahiye, bas yeh cooking se kya fayda
Kartik- bhai aap meri passion ke mazaak mat udavo, mujhe ek famous chef banna he
Ahaan- tum meri company join karlo kuch waqt keliye, phir dheere dheere tumhe yeh job pasand aayega, ya phir koyi aur job karlena
Kartik - mein hi stupid hu ,aapse behas karke koyi fayda nhi
Even ahaan got angry
Ahaan- Kartik kuch cheezon ki responsibility lena seekh , kamayi bhi important he
Kartik- toh aap keh rhi ki mein aapki paisa uda rhi hu
Ahaan- kartik!! tu meri baat ka ghalat matlab nikal rha he .
Kartik - sahi toh keh rha hu bhai, aap bhi mujhe nalayak samjhne lage
he blurted out in spur of a moment
That was enough for ahaan, his anger was on top notch he slapped him hard across his face, ahaan wasn't sure if the way kartik demeaned himself or questioned his love towards him enraged him more.
Kartik was hurt and angry too so he left from there without saying anything
Ahaan was feeling guilty now , but the damage was already done.
Meanwhile kartik inorder to change his mood called sonu. Sonu was in her first trimester and was having her share of mood swings and didn't notice that kartik was sounding low
Kartik - sonu,Tu movie dekhne chalegi kya mere saath
Sonu - nhi mera mann nhi he
Kartik- chipkali,Tu kabse itni boring ho gyi he
Sonu - dekh cheapad mujhe paka mat,ek toh raj subah se office mein busy he, mummyji bhi kisi kitty party keliye ready ho rhi he.aur ha boring mein nhi ghar pe betke tu bored hogyi he

Although he was usually the happy go lucky guy. He felt hurt that both his siblings were busy with their own life and the constant comparison with his super successful brother didn't help either . He adored his bhai no doubt, but he wanted to be accepted for his outlook and choices.
It was evening now
He was driving his car, he was dwelling on the argument he had with ahaan , he felt he over reacted to bhai's suggestion, but was still hurt, he was lost in thoughts
When a little boy suddenly ran towards his car, he swiftly turned the car in opposite direction inorder to dodge him but to his badluck a truck was speeding in that direction.
BOOM! His car got badly struck and it tumbled upside down.

Meanwhile ahaan was driving back to home, unlike kartik he wasn't someone who weared emotions in his sleeves, it was difficult for him to admit how much someone means to him . Like kartik would often say he lived more in denial than delhi . But to be honest he adored his little brother. Even though they were cousins he never felt that kartik wasn't his own brother.sometimes he felt kartik knew him better than himself. So he felt guilty for raising hand on his kartik.
He dialled his number, the phone kept on beeping but there was no response from the other end. He thought that kartik was really upset and mad at him.
Ahaan- pura time apne phone leke ghoomta rehta he, ab dekho phone hi nhi utha raha he
He decided to call ishqi, she was still in her office stuck with some work
Ahaan- hello ishqi, kartik haina ghar pe usko phone do, uski phone nhi lag raha he
Ishqi - avm,mein toh office mein hu,aap
Ghar phone karo
Ahaan dialled the landline and a servant picked up the call, he informed him that nobody was home and kartik had'nt arrived yet
Ishqi's office was near ahaan's so he picked up ishqi on the way
Ishqi - kartik se baat huyi?
Ahaan- nahi,woh meri call pick nhi kar rha he, aur woh ghar par bhi nhi he
Ishqi - shayad kisi dost ke ghar gaye honge, aap pareshaan kyu ho rhe ho
Ahaan- aise koyi baat nhi ishqi
Ishqi - avm! , jab jhoot bolna nhi aata toh koshish bhi nhi karna chahiye
Ahaan- ishqi woh ...woh humari beech ladayi hogyi. Usse mein shayad kuch zyada hi keh diya . Ab wo naaraaz hoga
Ishqi - toh yeh baat he, aap mere pyaare devar ko daant rhe ho, koyi baat nhi jo problem he dono aapas mein phataphat suljhana, filhal mein usse call karke dekthi hu

Ishqi tried to call kartik but he didn't respond. Uneasiness had already started to creep into ahaan's heart by now, he had an uncanny feeling ,something was amiss
Ahaan tried to call kartik again but he got no response
Ishqi- ahaan kartik toh hamesha phone calls udate he, usse kya huva, kuch toh siyappa he
Ahaan - ishqi ab hum kya kare
Ishqi - aapki phone mein woh Jazoozi wala app heina ussmein check karo
Ahaan - yeah u are right. Mein tracker app use karti hu
He tried to track kartik and it showed the location nearby .
Ahaan- ishqi yeh toh yehi he, in fact a few meters from here
Ishqi- huh woh yahampe kya kar rha he
Avm, kahi kartik ki phone chori toh nhi ho gyi
Ahaan - pata nhi ishqi,lets check once
They drived a few metres and saw something that shook them to the core.
