Another poem about my baby brothers...
My chest swells up
As the anxieties rise in my throat
I've done this a million times
Why do I feel nervous?
I've seen you so many times
Held you so many times
Why is it that now
I feel so afraid?
Approaching the door
Billions of thoughts swarm my mind
After all of this time
Will you remember me?
Will you have forgotten all the memories we've made?
That I cherish every single day?
I slowly open the door
And your face fills my vision
Looking up
Your eyes meet mine
And a smile stretches across your small face
The anxiety fades away
And all I feel is love
Your tiny feet patter across the floor
As you run towards me
I crouch down
Enveloping you into my arms
I close my eyes
As I absorb this moment
My heart
Finally feeling whole again
