Probably my darkest poem yet. I'd really love to hear what you guys think this poem is about, but this is a personal favorite of mine, and I love seeing peoples reactions to this poem of mine...

A bat; the taker of merriment
My blood; the happiness I withhold
A combination that can only lead to misery

Youthful exuberance courses through my veins
Allowing me to smile and laugh
To feel joy in my heart

A bat comes
Looking for a delectable meal
It's my flesh he wants to feast upon

Why is it me he wishes to use for sustenance?
Isn't there anyone else he could choose?
My bliss only runs so deep

But it's me he picks
He approaches, sniffing me gently
Examining the snack of his choosing

It seems as though my scent excites him
As if the blood he is smelling
Is of something rare— something unique

I plead with the bat
Begging for him to spare me
It's of no use, though

The bat readies its fangs
When finally
He rips into me

Euphoria drips down my neck
The bat delightedly slurps it down
Not letting one drop get out of his reach

Finally, the bat releases
Smiling with satisfaction
Leaving no ecstasy behind for me

He flies away
Ignoring the cries of his victim
Having no care in the world

Laying still on the ground
I touch my neck
My blood is sucked dry

I close my eyes
The emptiness overwhelming me
As I go numb

"Sweet little baby in a world full of pain..."
