seasons change

I had fallen in love with love even before we met
She has been every poem I've ever wrote and had broken me in every goodbye
as she fled.
She was always out of reach, always gone before us meeting, leaving all of it unsaid.
There was always this hunger for a greater love to find,
bigger than what I'd ever had and emotions of a different kind.
For that lover I await,
in seasons change and all weather forms. I knew she was out there, I had faith.
But I have seen seasons change and watched the days grow old,
I saw moon falls and risings and stars turn cold.
I have seen what life could be
and all this time I have known that it just wasn't meant for me.
It was not up to me to face the sun and embrace her strokes on my skin,
not my place to sunbathe in light or feel the sea and to jump right in.
For all these years I have known that I wasn't where I was supposed to be, something always felt off and I was never whole, always just a part of me.

she has been going from one place to another, only to strand somewhere inbetween. She's been wandering for forever, always on the roam.
While all she wanted was to find a shelter, a place to call home.
A heart brave as a lion, but filled with empathy and compassion.
A heart that never stopped searching for adventure and chaos and passion
and maybe just a spark of true love but all she found was restlessness and settlements and fires which burned out.
She was committed and truthful but her soul...
Her soul secretly longed for the absented, always craving for all it could not have.
Caring for all, except her own behalf.

I have seen seasons change,
she kept her heart safe in a winter cold.
I traded love for passion,
she placed her life on hold.
I was never able to be myself in daylight and sun,
she claims that the moon is kinder and nights are more fun.
I believed in a greater love and emotions of a different kind,
she thought she longed for what she could never find.
A chance like this worth paying its toll,
When our roads crossed we saw moon falls and risings and two halves became whole.
