"Manal! Manal please wake up please." Hameeda(Manal's mom) muttered. "Mommy, wake up please. Your the only one I have now, my own father won't remember me or even you." Dia said crying. She may have a headache later on if she keeps crying like this.
"Dia calm down, she won't leave you she just fainted." Hanifa said. Hanifa is studying medicine so she knows. She checked Manal's pulse before telling Dia. "Get some water." Hameeda said.
Hafsah got water and sprinkled some on Manal's eyes. Manal flinched a bit before coming back to reality. Hafsah couldn't stop crying to. Everybody was sad about this deadly event. "M-mama, where's my husband?" Manal asked. "Manal, you have to rest and you heard what Ma'u said. Don't get yourself worked up please. Get some rest." Hameeda muttered all at once.
"But how can I-
"Abdullah ka kaita gida."(Abdullah take her home). Hameeda said to a worried Abdullah. "Um... okay." Abdullah replied."No, I'm not going anywhere without my Abubakar, no mom I won't!" Manal yelled. "Manal he will come back just go." Hameeda lied. "F-fine." Manal said crying.
"I'll go with." Dia said and everyone agreed. They were in the car and Abdullah drove off. "Umm... Manal, sh-should I drop you off at mama's or-
Manal didn't even spare him a glance. She was too busy thinking of her husband. She also vowed she will take her revenge. "I'll take you to mama's then." Abdullah said ignoring her.
Abdullah got to mama's house and dropped them off. Dia helped her mother in as Manal didn't even have the energy to walk there. They got into the house and Dia has been begging Manal to eat but she won't budge.
"Mom please, atleast have something. Dad will be okay. Atleast we know he's not dead." Dia said. Manal didn't answer. Dia then decided to call her grandmother.
Dia went to the balcony where Manal won't hear. Because Manal warmed her not to call anyone.
"Hello grandma, mom isn't eating anything. I've been begging her to have something but she won't." Dia said. "What?! I'll be there now." Hameeda said.
Hameeda reached the house early and went in. "Manal! Manal!" Hameeda called. Manal acted like she didn't hear her. "Manal what's wrong with you? Abubakar is not dead for goodness sake. Atleast thank Allah for that. He just lost his memory and with time, he'll regain it if we show him love." Hameeda said trying to reason with Manal.
"Dia called me and said you don't want to eat? Why?" Hameeda inquired. "Dia! Didn't I tell you not to call anyone!" Manal yelled and Dia flinched. "I-I'm sorry mom." Dia stammered. "Why are you blaming this poor child. She's just trying to help you. And besides your not helping yourself by doing all these. Think, if Abubakar was fine. Do you think he will let you stay like this without eating?" Hameeda asked.
"I- mom." Manal said and hugged her mother. Hameeda smiled and signaled Dia to bring the food. Dia did as told and brought it.
"I'll eat then. Abubakar won't be happy if he sees me like this. What if I loose weight? He won't love me anymore." Manal said plastering a fake smile on her face.
Dia's phone rang and it was Ahmad. She wanted to go and answer the call when Manal stopped her. "Who's that?" Manal asked. "I-umm, it's safiyya." Dia lied. "Okay." Manal simply replied.
Dia went away from the room and answered the call. "Hello!" She said. "Hy." Ahmad replied. "I just wanted to ask how your father is doing." Ahmad said. Dia could swear she felt like someone was piercing her heart.
"I-umm... he- he's fine." Dia lied crying. "Oh good. Seems like your crying." Ahmad said. "I- no im not." Dia stammered. The duo ended the call after a while before Dia went back to her mom.
