⚝ In this chapter, Koga is now reading Jane's diary, meaning to say that in every chapter Koga will read the diary, it'll be Jane's point of view and not Koga reading the book. ⚝

Jane Elliot's Diary
(Jane's point of view)

My heart can carry the whole world with how big it is now. I am delighted, my father bought me these old classic papers, exactly my type of papers — not too soft, not too dark, just a clean, white, and delicate paper.

I am too excited to write my words in this paper. I'll start with a short story about my evening — this evening, when I saw the new curate at St. Nicholas Church. He's nice, tall, handsome — barely tolerable, but at least he is nice. And he greeted me, with a smile.

"Miss Jane, good morning."

"Good morning, Sir."

Is there something wrong with his face? He's smiling from ear to ear, I didn't even know him.

"Miss Jane, you're also here?!"

I smiled as soon as I saw him — my best friend, Hans.

"Mr. Cole, it's really nice seeing you here. I'm delighted," I praise his formal attire. His face is all red after hearing my words of praise.

"They are all inside, your sisters and brother?" he asked, looking behind me.

"May sakit si Ate Marcia, kasama naman ni mama si Nesta, si Basil naman, nasa library kasama si papa," mahaba kong pagpapaliwanag bago punasan ang tumulong pawis mula sa noo ko.

Hans smiled. "Tara na sa loob?" he asked, still smiling.

I smiled at him as I removed my bonnet.

Hindi na ako lumingon pa sa lalaking sumalubong sa akin kanina at diretsong naglakad papasok sa malaking bahay nila Hans.

Hans is the only son of Colonel Victor Cole. He's a student and a very good one. He's the only loyal one to me. I trust him and he trusts me too. He's like a sibling.

"Too many people in this house," I whispered while looking around.

Crowded rooms, someone laughing, smiling, talking, and drinking. The disperse laughter from someone I don't personally know.

"You're as pretty as a picture tonight, Miss Jane," Hans whispered.

"But not as handsome as Gael," pang-aasar ko sa kanya.

Gael is our father's assistant, he's nice and simple and my friend Hans, secretly adores him as much as he adores me.

"Trust me, you are, and please do not tease me tonight."

I chuckled. I want to hit his shoulder but opt not to, we're inside his house, and a lot of noble gentlemen are here.

"Maiwan na muna kita, hahanapin ko lang si papa."

"Then, I'll find something to drink."

He smiled and walked away, leaving me here standing while staring at these people, silently judging them.
