I'll find you... (Head Engineer Mark X Reader)

Go Towards The Light PT.1

As you slowly approached the light, you were swarmed with memories of the good times you'd spent with your crew. The first time you landed. The first party. The first child to be born in the colony. But one stuck out in particular, a certain memory that you'd blocked, or tried to block.

"I just ended a 4 year relationship" Mark said walking round the corner, clearly having a little too much fun at the party.

"I'm so sorry Mark, I didn't realize you were even in a relationship?" You responded.

"It's okay, it wasn't mine!" You both laughed, sitting atop a hill looking down at the beach party in front of you. Your class has chosen to have a late night beach party to celebrate you all graduating, and Mark took it upon himself to ruin as many relationships as possible before the night ends. Which didn't suprise you since he loved to cause chaos wherever he went.

You chatted through the night, sharing laughs and stories of your time studying. Every now and then you checked your phone, responding to messages from your boyfriend Et-Han Nest-Or. He was sweet, but definitely had a few screws loose somewhere.

Mark had tried to avoid the topic of the boyfriend as much as he could. He knew that you had been through a lot in the past few months. Et-Han had become more aggressive and didn't want to spend as much time with you anymore. He was possessive and didn't like it when you spent time with Mark.

"Why do you even respond to his messages?"

"Because I have to..." A silence fell between you.

"You know, there are better guys out there. Or gals, I'm not discriminating!"

"And what about those who do not wish to define themselves?"

"Them too! I'm just saying that I don't think he's right for you y/n." He placed his hand on top of yours which was pulling at the grass beneath you. You smiled at him, feeling comfortable and safe. "Look, I don't want to upset you, but this could be the last time we see each other. Of course I'll still keep in touch, bit I can't leave without saying something. Just in case..."

"What is it Mark?"

"You know, you're really stupid y/n?"

"How so? Mark please just tell me."

"Don't get mad at me." You nodded reassuringly. He grabbed your face and gave you a light peck on the lips.

That's when you finally woke up.

Your heart was pounding. You looked around you... No... That's not possible!

You were back on the ship.
