Born among the remnants of the Romans,

From his lineage it was a shoe in

Family was one of many omens:
_______________________
At first he made a reluctant bishop,

And placed on the untamed eastern border,

But a new see he would come to pick up,

To laud virtue was done by his order:
__________________________
In a great storm, God gave him His shelter,

He sent an eagle to cover the rain,

He faced his troubles with open laughter,

It's always best to spread joy when in pain:
______________________________
From your high birth, you pulled up those born low,

So with God's gifts, to others, help I'll show.
