After class ended me and my friends sit in front of the school waiting for their parents and eda while we wait gus is talking about some new human stuff he learned today and willow is tending to some plant that's growing between the cracks of the sidewalk and I'm just On my phone looking at little stuff the only way I was even able to get the stuff I have now is going with owlburt to the human world to get human stuff, I wish I could buy more but I'm not in the human world I don't have money and I can't hide very much since my room is basically a repurposed storage closet I put my phone away when I hear someone else come out of the school I look back and see amity I stand up and hug her "Sweet potato!" She hugs me back and kisses my cheek I look away blushing we've been dating for a few months and I'm still not used to this she must think I'm such a dork I quietly sigh and smile and look back up at amity and we make eye contact and it feels like she's staring into my soul like she's searching for something in my eyes I break eye contact when I hear eda call me I quietly peck amity on the cheek and speed walk to eds I stop and turn to my friends and amity and wave "Bye guys see you all tomorrow" I tell even louder to amity to attempt to make her as flustered as she makes me "I LOVE YOU AMITYY!" my face flushes red and i rush to eda and we start heading home as soon as were out of earshot of the school king pops out of edas hair and stares at me for a minute before breaking the silence with one simple word "simp" I shake my head at him "I really need to stop letting you on the internet" he does his angry squeal and goes back into edas hair and eda and I just laugh I hold my bag right and stare at the edge of the forest were the owl house starts coming into view and smile I can't wait to get back so I can finally have some little time after today I really need it with busha being the meanie she is and almost getting exposed to the whole school everyone is just starting to accept me if they find out I'll be the laughing stalk of the school I get pulled out of my thoughts as we land in front of the owl house I try to calmly walk in but hooty being hooty had to scare me "HEY LUZ HOW WAS SCHOOL TODAY!??" I jump I think I felt my soul leave my body for a second I walk into the owl house obviously being followed by hooty since i have yet to answer his question I shrug "it was fine" I look up and look around and notice eda looking at me concerned I told my head and put on a confused smile "what?" Eda leans against the wall behind her "just fine? Usually your gushing about all the new stuff you learned and amity, did something happen? " I'm silent for a minute I didn't think she paid that much attention to it but I quickly shake the worrys away and nod "yeah not much really happened today I have homework to do I'll see you guys later" as I finish saying the same excuse to go to my room in already rushing towards the stairs I hear eda sigh in defeat and I smile maybe she won't bother me about it any more when I get to my room I lock the door and window and put down the blinds so hooty can't bother me
