(It's only chapter three and I've already given up on numbering)
Spoilers for Hamilton (if you have not seen this musical, go watch it!!! It's on Disney+ and it is AMAZING!!)
Anyway, Lams is the pairing of Alexander and John Laurens (someone please enlighten me as to why it is called that) and I LOVE this ship. I have read the letters that Laurens and Hamilton wrote each other, and I say anyone who says they weren't love letters doesn't really know the meaning of that word. Like, they were in love. So, yes - I ship them a LOT. (I also REALLY love the fanart).
The thing is, that whole love story wasn't really included in the musical. I can understand why - I mean they only have time for so much, and aside from being super tragic (which the Laurens interlude already is) it doesn't really add a whole lot to the plot.
However, I have a theory. For those of you who haven't read the letters, there's a pretty famous line that Alex writes in the beginning of one of them where he says, "Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my dear Laurens, that it was in my power, by action rather than words, to convince you that I love you." (Don't kill me if I got the wording wrong, that was just from memory). Anyway, I think that Lin Lanuel Miranda did put Lams in the musical. So, the only time the songs even comes close to hinting at it, is in My Shot, when Alex is like "Laurens, I like you a lot!" but you cannot watch the musical and tell me they don't take every opportunity to stare longingly into each other's eyes, grasp hands, or even hug. I think Lin was just showing Lams 'through action rather than words'. At least I'm going to think that, because I REALLY like this ship.
I think I'm also less inclined to ship Hamilton with Eliza because he cheated on her, and I think she deserves SO much better. Not that John deserves less than Eliza, but I just think his and Alex's personalities - the way they're portrayed in the musical, anyway - fit really well together.
Also, everyone should appreciate John Laurens. He was raised in a rich family in South Carolina during a time when slavery was a normal and accepted thing, but he still realized it was wrong, and fought to end it his whole life long.

RandomIn this book, I'm going to talk about a lot of different book series, movies, and musicals. I'm going to be talking about things I like, but also things I don't like. Be warned, I will complain a LOT; if you don't like that, I guess don't read it...
