Spoilers for The Maze Runner series
Okay, I liked Brenda in The Scorch Trials. It was kind of weird when they first met Thomas and practically the first words out of her mouth were "You are sweet" as she kissed him on the cheek, but overall, she was a total badass, and I liked what they did with her character.
For a while she seemed to be trying very hard to make a move on Thomas, but when she realized that he liked Teresa (or Newt, depending how to interpret it) she backed off, and kind of became more like a sister. And that worked. I really liked their interactions. Their banter right before Teresa and Group B attack them on the Scorch almost made up for the lack of Minho/Newt and Thomas banter - almost.
But then all that gets knocked down in The Death Cure. I mean, Thomas spends most of the books fighting for his life and dealing with the deaths of his friends - including one that shall not be named - but in between all of that, there is a kind of tension between him and Brenda and every time this happened, I was just thinking 'Gack, I thought we went over this already!'
And then *deep breath* AND THEN came the very last scene of the book, and who is it talking to Thomas? Not Minho - the one friend he's got left who's been with him since the beginning. Nope, it's Brenda. And what does she do? She doesn't really try to comfort him. She just says something mysterious, like she knows something he doesn't and then KISSES HIM! Out of nowhere! Thomas just sits there like an idiot and lets her, because he's in such shock, but I don't think he likes he at all! And the fact that that was the very last scene of the trilogy is just such a letdown for me.
Like, couldn't James Dashner think of something better?!
Commet requests (Please!!) and your Maze Runner ship!
Mine's probably Newtmas.
Have a picture of Newt since he's the best:

RandomIn this book, I'm going to talk about a lot of different book series, movies, and musicals. I'm going to be talking about things I like, but also things I don't like. Be warned, I will complain a LOT; if you don't like that, I guess don't read it...
