A/n: Okay so I  haven't written in a while. I'm sorry hehehe, but I finally have an idea to write. Also I'm writing this on my school IPad, so I hope my teacher doesn't see this...

I've known Florence for a few years now, even gotten the chance to call her mine. That was cheesy, but whatever. So basically where I'm going with this is, she LOVES birthdays. Everyone loves birthdays of course, but I've never met anyone who loves them more than her. So if you haven't guessed it already, her birthday is a pretty big deal.

January 3rd. National Pugh day. As we all call it by now. A few days ago Florence had flown back home to Oxford, so she could celebrate her birthday with her family and friends. I was invited of course, but I "couldn't go because of work". Little does she know, I'm on a plane over there right now. People might think I'm being extra for this. Like why couldn't I just go with her in the first place? Well I have planed a surprise. Me and Toby have partnered up for this to work. The party is going to be at a venue, with a stage. Basically I'm going to sing to her. Not gonna lie, I'm extremely nervous.

I had landed a few hours ago, and Toby had picked me up from the airport. He drove me to a hotel, so I  could get myself ready for tonight. After I had showered and all of that, I checked my phone. A text from Florence had appeared. "I really wish you could be here, I miss you<3". I felt a little bad for lying, but I think it's going to be worth it. Hopefully she'll like my surprise.

It was now 7 pm, and I had gotten too the venue.

"You ready" Toby asked, as he tuned his guitar.

"As ready as I can be" I smiled, feeling extremely nervous.

The plan was: Toby would preform some song's first. Then he will start playing "My girl", and I'll come singing in on stage. Florence is a very social person, so I know for a fact that there will be a good few people out there. I've never really sang for anyone before, not even Flo. As said earlier, her birthday is a big deal, so I have to give it my all for her.

"Okay Florence, again happy birthday. You probably think this was the last song, but there was one more added" I could hear Toby say through the walls. Here goes nothing.

"Welcome our surprise guest" Toby spoke looking over in my direction. I opened the door, and instantly met Flos eyes. Her mouth dropped and I couldn't help but to laugh. I got to the mic stand.

"Hey Flo, fancy seeing you here" I said, still holding eye contact. The crowd laughed. Florence was too stunned to speak, so I gave Toby a thumbs up.

Toby started to play the guitar, and it felt like it was just me and Florence in the room.

"I've got sunshine on a cloudy day" I sang, dancing with my hands. Flo had gotten her phone out, ready to record the whole thing.

"I guess you'd say. What can make me feel this way" I smiled over at Flo, and I could see her mouth an "I love you".

"My girl" I pointed at Florence, making her laugh.

"My girl" she almost screamed back the lyrics.

"My girl" we completely harmonized that part.

"Talking about my girl. My girl" I sang, completely getting rid of the nerves I had before. There was no one else in the world that I'd rather call, my girl.

The song had finished, and I turned to look at Toby. Putting my hand up for a hive five. Turning back to the crowd, Florences cheers filled my ears.

"Flo" I pause, meeting her kind eyes again.

"When I tell you I love you, I don't say it out of habit. I say it to remind you that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You make me feel like the happiest person in the world. You make me feel at home. You are my home. You keep me going, you lift me up when I'm down. Your presence is the most comforting feeling I've felt, in my whole life. And I hope you know, that I would choose you in every universe. Because I love you. Happy Birthday". The crowd cheered after my little speech. I could see Florence wiping some tears from her eyes. I opened my arms, signalizing that she should come up on stage.

Our bodies finally connected, in a tight hug.

"Sorry I lied to you" I said, making her laugh. She stepped back from the hug. Staring into my eyes.

"You are forgiven, darling" she said, putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

"What did I do to deserve you" she whispered, admiring me.

"By just being you" I whispered back. Closing the gap between us.

It felt like the world went in slow motion. In this moment it was just me and Flo. And I couldn't ask for anything better than that. As we parted, I got back to reality. People were clapping all around us, and I couldn't help but blush.

"Happy birthday"

"My girl" I said cheekily, earning another laugh from Florence.

A/n: And I finally finished a part. I have had this scenario play in my head for weeks now, so I just had to write it down. Have a nice day<3
