I stared at the grinning Monkey in shock. I turned to Mk who had the same expression as I had. I looked back down at Wukong, still filled with energy. It was as if he was waiting for something.

"W-What?" I blurted out, confused.

"I missed you! Cmon, I know you missed me!" Wukong said happily, getting up from his position and grabbing onto my shoulder.

"Get off me!" I shouted, nudging his hand off my shoulder.

"Why are you such a party pooper! Also, who's that kid over there?" He pointed over to Mk.

Mk's eyes widened, slowly he walked over to us.

"It's me, Mk? Y'know...your successor?" Mk said with a nervous smile.

Wukong stared at the kid , then burst out into laugher. Mk looked down, he probably felt embarrassed and worried.

"Hah! Oh that's just rich! Look stranger, I'm The Monkey King, I could never be someone's mentor." Wukong explained, raising the palms of his hands and his shoulders up.

"That is unless..." Wukong suddenly got into a fighting stance.

There was a fierce look In his eye, as if he would destroy Mk right then and there.

"You're actually a demon in disguise, trying to fool me with your trickery!"

Mk started to panic, waving his hands in front of his face.

"Oh no no no! I'm not a demon at all Monkey King! I really am your successor! Why don't you remember me?!"

I examined the conversation in confusion, arms crossed. What exactly happened? Mk and I were fighting each other and bumped into him. Something as simple as that wouldn't have made him love me or forget Mk. That is if it had something to do with his meditation. The two started getting annoying. Wukong kept making accusations as Mk would deny them and tried explaining himself.

"You don't stand a chance against the two of us!" Wukong spoke proudly, placing his arm on my shoulder.

My eyes widened, I tuned out their conversation, however that one line caught my attention.

"Two of us?" I asked, The Great Sun Wukong teaming up with me?

"Yeah, bud! Haven't seen you in a few years, it'll be nice to catch up y'know!?"

He betrayed me, he has no right to act like we're a team. At least, that's what I'd say to the monkey now. This Wukong isn't the Wukong we saw minutes ago. From what I gathered, he seems to think he's his past self. Before he left me, before he killed me. This wasn't The Monkey King, Great Sage equal to heaven, this was Sun Wukong- My Sun Wukong.

"Y'know what? Sure. Let's end this Mk. The two of us, versus you." I said confidently, standing in a fighting position.

Mk pulled out his staff, his eyes widened with terror.

"Hey- hey hold on! Isn't this a little unfair?! I mean y'know- you two were supposed to make up not team up on me!"

Wukong gasped, his face filled with anger as he stared down at the boy.

"My staff! You better give me my staff back or I'll really make you regret it!" He spoke with an evil smile.

Mk froze in fear, He was just on opposing sides of The Monkey King less than a month ago, now he had to deal with that again. He held his ground and put on a brave face.

"You're not thinking rationally right now-"

"I don't need to think rationally! I can just fight my way through!" He barked back.

"Now that's the Wukong I know!" I turned to him smiling.

What was that?

I haven't felt like this in a long time.

It brings me back to when Wukong and I would hang out together. Just the two of us, nothing could break our bond. His smile, it's just like how he used to smile. That Wukong I miss, it was him. A warm sensation flowed through my body. It was as if that betrayal wasn't even real. As if maybe, just maybe we could go back to how things were.

A heart wrenching scream filled my ears. A pain went in my chest and through my heart. As if I had just gotten stabbed. How I felt that day. When Wukong...

No. The old Wukong turns into The Monkey King. He probably already started forgetting about me anyway. There isn't anything to salvage between us. He is the "Hero" and I am the Warrior.

I could use this to my advantage.

"C'mon Monkey King, I know we can figure this out together. Just trust me." Mk lifted his hand forward, reaching for the monkey.

Wukong's cocky expression dropped, he gave an intense look into Mk's eyes. He clenched his fists, taking a deep breath while doing so.

"I don't need to trust you."

The King dashed to Mk at full force, hitting him straight at his stomach. Mk flew back due to the pure power, cracking the wall behind him. Pieces of rumble fell, creating dust clouds around the area. Mk dropped to the floor, grabbing onto his stomach. He winced in pain, slowly opening his eyes revealing a blurry image. As his eyes focused, he noticed the crimson blood dripping down his hand. He turned up to see The Monkey King slowly walk towards him with a grin.

His breathing staggered. "M-Monkey...King..." He let out, trying to reason.

Wukong didn't listen, humming to himself as he slowly made his way towards the Mk.

"List-en...I-I don't want...to fight- you..." Mk kept on, grabbing onto whatever he can to get up.

"Ugh! Blah blah blah, when the hell are you gonna shut up?!" Wukong teased, going in for another blow.

Mk shot his hands up, blocking The Monkey Kings punch and sending a wave of power across the area. The wind was rough, enough to pierce a regular humans skin. Wukong's eyes widened at the sight.
The Monkey jumped back, grabbed a few strands of hair and made a few clones of himself. Mk then did the same, the clones all attacked each other. Suddenly, Wukong shapeshifter into an eagle. Mk, copied, trying to keep up with The King. Wukong would shapeshift again, Mk would do the same.

"Y-You..." Wukong shouted in awe. "You have my powers?!"

He fell back, examining Mk once again. Mk stopped as well, staring at Wukong.

"Yeah!" He said with confidence, twirling the staff around. "Cause I'm-"

He strikes a pose, pointing the staff at Wukong with a smirk.

"Monkie Kid!"

Seeing the two fight was enjoyable. However, I didn't exactly what to kill Mk. Sure he's Wukong's successor, but he's a good kid. I wouldn't want him getting any more beat up than he already has.

"We should go."

"What?! Macaque, he has my staff!" Wukong turned to me, furious.

I took a deep breath. "Just let him go, he won't be too much of a threat." I explained.

After all, the only thing Mk is after now is Wukong. Besides, The Great Sage Equal To Heaven is fine without his stick.

"Macaque, this isn't like you? Let's just finish him already!" He placed his hands on his hips, now putting most of his attention on me.

I smiled, slowly making my way to Wukong.

"Don't worry, it's not like he can stop us anyway. He may have your powers, but you're immortal man. You can't even die."

Wukong stopped to pause.

"Ooohhhh....YOU'RE RIGHT! I CAN'T DIE!" He shouted happily, punching his arms up into the air.

I laughed, however the bright smile on Wukong's face only made things harder. Wukong summoned his cloud to sit on. He pat next to him, which signaled me to jump on.

"We'll chat next time Mk." I turned to the bleeding boy.

I hopped onto the cloud. Once I was on, Wukong looked back to Mk.

"Yeah idiot!" Wukong added before flying off.
