"Who's your crush?" Romi asked me, my heart pounding in my chest, my breath getting dry and short.
I could feel my face twitching nervously, like when you try not to move but your body can't stay still.
I tried thinking of a joke I could make.
"Your mom" I replied, he laughed.
"No seriously, you said you have a crush who is it?"
"I don't wanna say"
"Can you describe them? I'll try to guess who it is" he asked, I was sort of relieved. At least I don't directly have to say.
"Well they have short hair, not their natural colour.... They're really sweet, they always make me laugh. They're also kinda clingy- in a good way I mean" I chuckled, I could see in his face he was trying to figure it out.
"Is it Jules?" He asked in a sort of disgusted way.
"Ew no way, she's my best friend" I laughed, he went back to thinking and I sat there hoping he wouldn't figure it out.
He's kinda dense so it doesn't bother me THAT much.
"Zac?"
"No"
"Molly?"
"Nooo"
"Oh my god is it Alex??"
"No it is not Alex"
"Ughhhh I don't knowwww! Can't you just tell me?"
I looked straight in his eyes, the whole world was going so fast. I don't want him to find out. What if he doesn't like me back?
"Can you at least give me the first letter of their name?"
"No that's way too easy, I'll give you the last letter" I compromised.
He's gonna figure it out for sure
"Their name ends with an I"
"Oh my godddd is it me?" He asked with a smile.
No no no absolutely not
"No it's your mom"
"UGHH why are you like this Dom?" He said with a chuckle, "is ittttt.... Gigi?"
"No"
"Is it me?? It sounds like me"
"No it's your sister, I'm in love with her" I joked, he rolled his eyes with a gentle laugh.
"Why do you always joke when I ask if it's me?"

"You know... if it were me, I wouldn't mind"
Oh my fucking god I swear if this is a joke I will kill His cat (I'm just kidding I'm not that evil)
"Is it me?" He asked one more time. I looked down, picking at the skin surrounding my nails.
"Maybe"
"I... I think I like you too. If I am your crush, at least"
