As soon as I left the diner I walked around the city for what felt like minutes, which was actually hours. It was night time now, about 9:45, so I headed to the hotel room I was staying in. Of course it wasn't a dingy, cheap motel, but a five star hotel that was in the upper east side. Sue me for trying to live my gossip girl dream.

As I made it to the hotel I saw some kids running around, playing tag. Laughing and giggling. It made me smile. I remember running around the yard with Hope. We would do that for hours and then take a snack break with sandwiches Hayley made us.

I remember Hope scrunching her nose when she saw me putting chips in my sandwich. She said it was gross and that it ruined the sandwich. My response was always sticking my tongue out at her. Hayley would chuckle at us and one day she told me that mom would do the same thing when she was pregnant. Said that whenever she had a sandwich that she needed chips with it or she wouldn't eat it.

I smiled at the memories. I missed those days. Where life was easy and the only thing I had to worry about was Hayley making brussels sprouts.

I missed Hope. I missed my sister.

One of the kids had started laughing really hard and made me snap back into reality.

I made my way into the lobby and towards the elevators. I saw some odd looking people sitting on the lobby couches. Normally I wouldn't think anything but they kept looking around, being completely obvious they were looking for somebody.

As I kept walking I saw it wasn't just the people on the couches but also there were some at the hotel bar and some lounging around by the elevators.

I decided to hurry to the elevator and back up to my room so I could grab the little belongings I have and go.. These people had business and I was praying it wasn't me. Yet, I have never had a prayer answered in my life.

I walked to the elevator and pressed the button. I kept my head down and didn't dare speak. Call it a new sense but I had an aching feeling these people were here for me. Their auras showed darkness, they were bad auras. Those belonging to people who have done bad and live a dangerous life.

The elevator doors opened and I walked into it. I pressed the 14th floor and pressed the closed door button a couple times, wanting it to close faster. I'm never that lucky because an arm stopped the door as it was halfway closed.I glanced up to see there were two people, a male and a female. The male was blonde, brown eyes, and had a beard. The female was brunette, piercing blue eyes and had freckles on her nose, as well as her upper cheek area.

I was keeping my eyes on the floor when the male reached over by me to press a floor number. 15, one floor above me. As he was reaching his arm back, that smell hit me.

Dog.

They both were.

I remained calm. If they weren't going to do anything, maybe it could be a coincidence. If only, if only.

I saw the female reach into her pocket and saw the gleam of a knife. Before she could pull it out any further I grabbed her arm and quickly twisted all the way to the right, hearing the very familiar snap.

She scrambled in pain and that's when the male started towards me. He grabbed my left arm, the one I used to break the girl's arm, starting to turn me so I was pressed against the wall of the elevator but I grabbed his head with my right hand and ran him into the wall. He was stunned for a second and the girl was still crying about her arm so I took a moment to see what floor we were on, 10.

The guy recovered and stood up. He threw a punch at me and hit me square in the face. I stumbled back and brought my right hand up to my lip, bringing it back down to see the blood. This asshole just busted my lip. I looked at him astonished.
