Cole woke up from the buzz of his phone, "What...?" He said groggily as he turned it on (wincing from the brightness) and seeing some texts from his former classmates from dance class. "I should really get a new phone..." he sighed, leaving them unread, before deciding that he can't go back to sleep and instead went through his usual morning routine.
By the time he went downstairs, he already saw Mystaké taking inventory. "Oh! You're quite early today." She said, taking off her glasses "Let me whip you up breakfast."
"That's okay you don't have to..."
"Nonsense! You'd think I wouldn't notice the pastries being taken right before you leave?"
Cole's eyes widened at Mystaké's statement, who only gave him a smug look. "Sit my child, this won't take long." Mystaké said as she went to the kitchen. By the time she returned, she was holding a plate of warm, fluffy pancakes served with a heaping of chocolate syrup and fresh berries decorated on top. Cole silently gave her his gratitude before digging in.
